Coffee Grinder and Brew in ONE step
This coffee pot is made for whole bean coffee, but there is also a button to bi-pass the grinder and use regular coffee grounds. As should be expected, it is a bit loud during the grinding process. Just be aware if you set the program to go off early morning.lol. We love the one-step process. Makes great coffee. Great value for the money!

Great coffee maker
I owned the older model of this coffee maker: DCC-1200P1 and had it for at least 15 years. It was awesome and was in love with it. I purchased this new model since it has a grinder in it and it's a great brand. I like it and it's very functional. Overall, I'm happy. 1. I wish the grinder allowed for different ground sizes. It's just one setting, one size but it's not a big deal as it makes great coffee. 2. I would move the 1-4 Cups button above the Program button. People use the 1-4 cups button more than the Program button so I wish it was on top so you would hit all 3 top buttons to get the coffee maker started. Right now, you have to hit 2 buttons on top and 1 down. Again, not a big deal but just a design improvement IMHO. Maybe I'm being OCDish. Lastly, once coffee is made, I noticed the coffee maker shuts off after 1 hour. I think the previous model used to remain on for 2/3 hours, if I recall correctly. Anyway, not a big deal at all on these. This is a very safe choice and a great coffee maker to go with across the board and I recommend it.

It makes the best coffee, we love it
This is not the first one we have bought. We have hard water and even with cleaning after about 5 years we need to replace it. It makes the best coffee, we love it. The only problem we found is if you want to make a second pot, we normally only make one a day, you need to wash and dry grinder parts. If we do make a second pot I use a bean grinder and turn off the pot grinder. All of the coffee pot part are dishwasher safe.

COFFEE ... Need I say more ๐
Some call me a coffee snob.... I beg to differ, i'm simply someone who truly enjoys that one cup of coffee that I drink daily. I'm not a coffee drinker to the point that I drink coffee all day long, simply cannot do that. I have one cup in the morning while I'm getting ready for work.. that's it! I guess the snobbery comes in because I will only drink one particular brand of coffee, and while I have tried others, I have found that this one satisfies my one cup a day coffee needs ๐ What does this have to do with this coffee maker, you ask? Sit back and relax....About five years ago I was visiting my niece in florida and she had a Kuerig of course, who didn't have one at that time or even now right? Anyway, That was all she had. So I purchased pods from my favorite coffee company Caribou (mahogany), and it actually tasted pretty darn good so we decided we were going to break all the coffee snobbery rules and get a keurig coffee maker.... 4 Years later and five keurig's, we decided we were done and it was time to go back to brewing our own coffee. That being said, I wanted one that gave us the option of grinding whole beans and brewing pre ground coffee...enter the Cuisinart dual brew machine.......Now who doesn't love a good French press, and while this is not a French press, it offer similarities in that it grinds the beans fresh in the morning before it brews the coffee! Amazing right? The other great thing about this coffee maker, is that it also brews pre-ground coffee. It has a timer to set it to go off at anytime of the day or night, and the heating pad is programmable to stay on for more than two hours! So far we are quite happy with this coffee maker

Alarm never stops!!!
While this unit makes good coffee it has two features that drive me crazy. I cannot find anything in the provided manual to remediate these issues. First there is an alarm for if it's not set up completely. This means whenever I clean it it beeps non-stop. So if I want to soak the grinder parts I have to listen to never ending beeping. Second, it keeps some amount of moisture in the grinder which makes cleaning it every say essential. If there's a way to shut off the alarm, I would be much happier.

Grinds and brews your coffee beans
Iโve had cuisinart coffee makers before and that is why I got this one. Love it as it makes great coffee, does grind and brew, itโs easy to clean up, and easy to set up.

From zero to hero, depending....
There are things i really like about this unit.... charcoal water filter is nice for those of us on tap water (makes a difference). It looks nice and it brews well.BUT... it struggles to make a full pot without screwing up, unless you prefer weak diner-style coffee. The basket is either (a) not big enough, (b) poorly designed, or (c) both. For a 12 cup pot, ive had complete overflows (like, put onto the counter) at least 3 times and have had grounds in the pot at least a dozen times. Water delivery is too fast which makes grounds overflow the "lid" of the basket (made that way because of the grinder aspect) if there is an appropriate amount of coffee (1 scoop per cup).Additionally, the grinder works ok, but is difficult to clean. In fact, that is the central bullet point here---- this thing is MESSY to use. Lastly, the safety switch will not allow the maker to operate unless the grinder is in inplace, whether its being used or not. This design keeps the grinder bucket sopping wet at all times, requiring it be removed, cleaned, and DRIED *EVERY TIME* before it can be used. A real pain.TBH, for the price of this thing, I would definitely get something else... heck, maybe 6 or 7 something elses, since this one costs 6 or 7 times what a cheap manual pot does, and the coffee isnt any better. Ymmv i guess.
