Faulty design - hot plate keeps pop up during usage
As other reviewer mentioned, it is a good hot plate when it's working but most of the time it wasn't. This is due to the faulty design which the hot plate keeps popping up when the heating is on. It uses a spring-loaded lock mechanism; however, the designer didn’t put into consideration when metal gets hot it'll expand. The locking mechanism will pop up during cooking as the plate gets hot (since its name hot plate). It is purely a design fault.

Faulty griddle
The grill looked amazing and when it worked it cooked brilliantly, unfortunately the detachable hot plate kept popping up when it got hot making it very dangerous. I eventually returned the item and got my money back. this is definitely a desigh fault so would not recommend unless the company redesigns the catches for the hot plate.

Stressful cooking on a grill
The media could not be loaded. Hot plate keeps lifting off base after seconds, first one replaced by cuisinart second one as bad, worst kitchen appliance we’ve ever bought, cooking no fun on it just stressful waiting for plate to lift and then trying to refit without burning yourself while trying to finish cooking what you have on it.

Cuisinart Grill
The Cuisinart Style Collection Entertaining Grill gets a big thumbs up from our household. It’s a great way to cook large quantities of food and thanks to the versatility of the dual zone temperature control on each side of the cooking plate, you can also use just one side of the grill to cook lovely, smaller meals too. I love that the dual temperature grill can be heated to different temperatures on each side (from 90-260℃) to cook various food types. It has worked great when cooking steaks on one side and gently grilling vegetables on the other.Previously, I always used a frying pan or wok to cook - I’m no Nigella Lawson and I tend to burn items and have the smoke alarms blaring when using my oven grill. However, there are no such problems with the Cuisinart grill, it has a built in drip tray which allows excess oils to drain from the plate for healthier cooking while maintaining the taste too, so this is a big bonus for me. I have found that it takes only a short time to heat up and with the non-stick coating it simply wipes clean after use and I don’t need a splatter guard while cooking like I did when using a frying pan.It is quite a chunk of a machine and I did have to rearrange my kitchen to have it sat permanently on the worktop, so this is something to bear in mind if space is limited. When cooking I do place the grill on top of my hob, but I have found that I rarely need to turn on the extractor fan. I have found however, when moving the grill, that the plate sometimes detaches, so you need to make sure it is fully clicked into place before turning it on.Overall, I am delighted with the Cuisinart Entertainment Grill!
