I don't use scalpels on a regular basis, just some hobbyist stuff and I thought something like this would be good to have around as a safety precaution but there's no instructions on how it works. It looks like you use your thumb to press down after inserting the blade but that is not the case at all. I have to twist mine a little before the blade pops off. Took a while to figure it out. I tried pressing down and pulling which ended up being way too risky. These blades are no joke and I've learned the hard way a couple times. It's just a plastic box with a small slot for the scalpel. Once the blades inside the box you have to twist it in order for it to pop off the handle and it falls to the bottom of the box and stays there until you throw the box out. Like I said, not a professional so don't take my methods as being gospel.
