Q: Whats the difference between this and a normal network switch?

It is similar to a network switch in that it connects multiple P 16 remote mixers to the X air. The main thing that we found beneficial was that it also powered all those p16 units via the network cables so we didn’t have to have power supplies all over the stage for each of the individual piece 16s. Q: Can i run one cat5 from the p16-i at the soundboard to a p16-d on the stage, then run 6 cat5s to the 6 p16-ms?

In my experience that worked for me, but I did not have a p16i (the concept should be the same). You may want to test it, but I believe you would send cat5 from p16i to p16d input, then out to all p16ms.

I believe you can daisy chain them. The behringer forum group is pretty responsive. You might post your question there for more info.

no you will not need the p16i. The p16i is for interfacing with analogue signals. In the back of your x32 there is an cat5 port labeled ultranet. Plug on cat5 to that to the p-16d and now you have power and signal to your p16m
