Worked perfectly.
I had to replace the factory head unit in my 2016 subaru impreza that had a factory backup camera. I read online that the factory camera used a lower voltage compared to the output of the aftermarket head unit I planned to install. This item is deisgned to step down the 12v output of the aftermarket headunit to the appropriate volatge toso as to not overwork or damage the factory camera. this item is also used at some local install shops to acheive the same result. It worked great with my setup and install was easy if you follow the wiring directions correctly.

Great device for those cameras that won’t just switch over..
Bought this to assist the new head unit and to still have a back up camera. It works great and I can still see what’s behind me so over all I am happy.

Android Headunit Compatible - 2015+ Subaru WRX/STi
Purchased this to retain functionality of my factory backup camera on my 2017 Subaru WRX Aftermarket Android headunit and it works perfectly. Even comes with instructions on which wires to solder together.

Output voltage 11v, not 6v...
So, after hours of attempting to troubleshoot why my oem backup camera in my 2016 Subaru WRX wouldn't work with my new Pioneer 4200nex, my son finally got the brilliant idea to check the connections with a multi-meter. I mean, it couldn't possibly be that WE did nothing wrong, and our problems were actually a defective piece of gear. Turns out, yep...the stepped down voltage was a fantastic(and completely useless) 11.6v. Congrats...you managed to drop the voltage by about 1v. Grrrrrrrr...so angry that we wasted so much time thinking it was something we did wrong. Sigh. Guess I shouldn't be that surprised, as it seems EVERYONE'S QA/QC programs are pretty lackluster these days. Anyway, if you do happen to buy this, and after hooking everything up, the HU switches to camera view when in reverse, but shows no picture, save yourself some time, grab a multi-meter and make sure this POS is actually working properly.
