Amazing book
The book is well organized and we'll written. It is definitely a must for Odoo developers. I personally don't like the official Odoo documentation finding it incomplete and not updated, this book covers all the points missed by the official docs

A must have complete guide that contains core knowledge for developers and users as well
Odoo itself is one of the most complete ERP systems that are offered in the market with many modules and features available that can cover most of a business's needs. This book perfectly describes many developers' needs that are explained through a variety of examples. The first chapters are easy to understand and introduce us to development in Odoo in a simple and direct way. Some topics that are covered are also useful for standard users such as importing and exporting data, Models - structuring the application data, Odoo applications, etc.I would recommend seeing in future editions more information about the integration of external email servers as well as more studio features and capabilities. Also, Odoo contains additional technical resources that standard users may benefit from such as automated actions.Even if you do not know much about programming, you can definitely read this book, as the target audience is experienced developers as well as new users.

The best guide on Odoo & custom development I have found so far
This book should be a starting guide for every Odoo implementer out there. It really explains everything from the very beginning - what is the structure - models, fields, views, actions, ... It firstly shows how to do small customizations yourself with technical settings, and then it shows how to set up the development environment. This book is not only for technical people, but I would recommend each analyst/consultant to read at least the first half, to understand how the system works. What I value a lot is that the book points out the main differences between the versions, as things sometimes change from version to version.I definitely recommend it, the source of information is much better than even the official documentation!

Great Reference for Odoo Teams
An excellent review of how to use Odoo focused on the new version, 15. If you haven’t used Odoo, or are not using Odoo, one of the book’s shortcomings is it does not list why you should be using Odoo. Odoo fills the role as a existing, open-source development environment for Python as SaaS offering relying on PostGresSQL for database inputs. Each chapter offers a clear progression to get your tasks into Odoo, connect to the appropriate models, improve user interface and functionality, and then administrate your Odoo instantiation. As mentioned, there is a lot more code in this work than explanation. Sections 1 and 2 detail the installation basics, while section 3 moves into business logic through supporting the demonstrated process. The explanations are sufficient to build the Odoo instance and make sure everything works. Again, the gap is why you might choose to use Odoo rather than another application. The business processes are extensive and the demonstrated example shows how to set up a library, include new books, and then make allowances for checking out and returning those books.Section 4 moves into the GUI applications and discusses how to usea Kanban view with qWeb to show the best visibility. As a DevOps focused individual, I use Kanban’s extensively. I appreciate they included this function, and the ability to make the data instances transition across the board in a clear manner. Also included are how to print reports from Kanban to ensure your C-Suite individuals, always a vital tool. The section also includes creating web and portal features specific to your business applications. Finally section 5 addresses setting up a SaaS instance on your server and maintaining your uses.Overall, this is a great book if you have been using Odoo, or your team needs to train new members on Odoo. An exceptional reference volume to explore Odoo if you are looking for options or to bring new team members up to speed if your org already uses Odoo.

Over 500 pages packed with information every Odoo developer, new or seasoned, can benefit from!
Highly recommended.Well organized and clear explanations, with important information about changes over the last six versions, it is a resource everyone working with Odoo can benefit from having.Extremely verbose discussions and examples, with a style that is very readable and informative.Developers working with the Enterprise Edition of Odoo will notice a lack of coverage on Odoo Studio and the additional Enterprise-only features, but this book remains the standard reference for developers.Would love to see a discussion about WHEN development is actually required as, all too often, those with the skills to build love to jump straight into doing it when it isn't always needed. Technical debt is the biggest reason Odoo users are forced to stay on older versions and can't benefit from the annual upgrades offered.

You can either read it thoroughly or you can search for specific topics of interest.
The topics that are covered in this book are precisely the ones all developers want to know. You can either read it thoroughly or you can search for specific topics of interest. I liked that the author exposed his ideas on how to solve specific problems that are commonly presented in Odoo. I hope for later editions to have more illustrations.
