cool tool!
I used this on some limbs that were too high to reach with a ladder and pole saw. You need to ad your own rope so carefully check length, cut 2 pieces and tie then onto the ends of this chain. It has cutting edges on both sides which makes it easy to orient over the limb. I tied one end of the rope to a bean bag from a cornhole set to enable me to throw it over the limb. Once it's in place, just pull on each end until the branch falls- stay to the side of its likely landing spot.

The saw works pretty good
The firestarter kit was missing from my package

Great for hiking/ mountain biking.
Bought this to stuff in my pack for mountain bike rides. Early in the season we have lots of trail work to do. This is a lightweight saw that can help cut through some pretty large downed trees. It’s not super easy you have to put some work into it, but it beats packing a 15lb saw into the woods. I’ve already cut through dozens of downed trees this year and it is still in great shape.

It really works!
I bought this to trim some oak branches that I couldn’t reach with my pole saw. The tree service wanted $500 to cut them, so I figured why not give this a shot. It worked really good! The only thing you have to watch for is to make sure the chain doesn’t get pinched when the limb starts to break and hang down. This happened to me but fortunately I was able to work it free. Definitely recommend.

Does the job
A real handy little saw, gets into difficult spots where you can’t use a regular saw. It is really very easy to use and saws really well.

Something to use only if you really have to
You need to be very patient with this tool. I started using it to saw a 4 inch wide branch on a living tree. After pulling the straps back and forth for 60 seconds, I was only about a quarter of the way through the branch. I was already tired. I took my 6 inch electric mini-chainsaw and cut about an inch lower and got through the branch within several seconds. So, I knew it would be harder than using my electric saw, but not quite so hard. I bought this tool to deal with limbs that are 20 feet high and will probably keep it since I don't have another strategy for cutting those limbs.
