822TOD PermaCure Self-Vulcanizing Tire Repair System

I had to hesitate before purchasing this item for my mower tire. The reason was this item has a dated time usage and I don't have flats that often, so this review will be a little early,but I will comment on the usage as it was simple just like the older plug types I have used. I have waited for while before writing this review and I had to plug three little tiny holes and have used the mower three times now and it is still up and running fine. I liked the fact that it said the plugs were self vulcanizing since mowers generally have 2 ply tires (very thin) and I wanted to give them a try.It has a fancy sturdy holder box and nicely written instructions inside as picture shows. I have purchased this twice since I plugged the first hole and let it sit for while and the tire went low again. It was due to the tire having two more little holes after water testing in my sink. I have stored the first package somewhere unknown so had to order another of the same kit,so this is not available with the plugs only as these plugs will use the same tools as the older plugs they claim dry out. Anyway I have another kit that is stored somewhere,so I would buy again if needed since I like the idea of vulcanizing which is similar to putting a patch on the inside of the tire.My tires are 23 years old on this mower so am thinking vulcanizing would be better. Anyway I would recommend for a short period of use if it doesn't go over the dated plugs usage? The kit wouldn't be too good to store in your car trunk or home for over this time? This is only my opinion but they do state this several times about being a dated item.

Test in Mexico by someone who isn't me at 130+ MPH and post repair by about a month. Does the job well. Repair was done in center tread with a standard sized screw.

Had a tire puncture near the shoulder of the tire. This plug kit sealed the puncture perfectly. It was easy to use and the sealing fluid was the extra component that most plug kit don’t include. I think this “sealed” the deal.

Nice small tire plug kit to bring along for motorcycles, cars, atv, etc. uses tech plugs which are great.

I used to work at a repair shop 30 years ago and that was my main job to repair tires. The shop started using these vulcanizing plugs when they first came out. For most tire punctures this is a permanent solution. Quick and easy. In most cases the tire doesn't even need to be removed from the hub. As long as the hole isn't to big these work great. I've been looking for these for awhile and finally found them.
