Does exactly what it says. Not cheap but perfect for the electric towel rail.LED light when on is very bright which might be an advantage in some settings but in the bedroom I put a bit of tape over it to dim it a bit. Works well so I've ordered another one.

I bought this as a replacement for a previous purchase (still for sale on Amazon) and even though they are a similar price, this unit is superior in every way.Easy to install and comes with different length of mounting screws depending on how deep the box is in the wall.Unlike the previous unit which quite frankly was a bit of a nightmare, the setup & programming is easy and intuitive with a very useful instruction video included in the pictures on Amazon.The programmer includes options for having each day different, everyday the same, and it also has a quick and handy method of setting week days different from the weekends.If a boost is needed, or to advance the programming it’s just a simple push of a button - easy and straightforward.I have just had the unit running now for a month so can’t speak of longterm reliability but based on everything so far I am not expecting any problems.

I had an internal FCU which connected to some external garden sockets and lights. The lights were on all of the time, unless we remembered to turn them off. Had a look at daylight sensors, but none were suitable. This item worked a treat - simply a case of replacing the FCU - same backbox, same wiring. Timer setting is easier than most I've used and is working a treat. Only minor issue was the two sets of screws provided for connecting through to the back box. The long ones were too long and the short ones too short - maybe because my pattress box was a dry-lining variety. Easily overcome by simply shortening the long ones with a pair of pliers. Because the timer switches off the other external sockets during the day the 'boost' function is incredibly useful if I'm using power tools in the garden - one push over-rides the timer for one hour and another push gives you two hours, three pushes reverts to the timer. Brilliant.

Clear instructions and simple to operate

Although previous users stated that it wouldn’t work on economy 7, it actually works. The internal battery stores the set programme and time so that it turns on at midnight when electricity is supplied and works as expected. Great product!Room for improvement: clear instructions on earthing slot as there was only 1 slot but I had 2 wires to connect

When I first fitted the item, everything seemed fine. I programmed it to turn on the next morning, but it cut out after just a few minutes. I followed the troubleshooting advice in the manual, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue. I ordered and fitted a different make, it works with no problems. Back to Amazon it goes...
