After chasing down several possibilities (including buying an aftermarket cap from parts house) I got this gas cap and my check engine e light FINALLY turned off

Fixed P0456 on Civic
Worked perfectly on a 2005 Honda Civic EX. Had P0456 code. Old cap had a couple of cracks/gaps around the gasket. This worked perfectly and got rid of the evap leak and the code.

Just like my OEM cap
I bought this when my check engine light popped on, since one of the first things to do is check the gas cap to see if that was the reason. I found this one, since it looked exactly like the OEM cap I have. As soon as I received it, it was exactly the same, except it doesn't have the little hook o-ring to hang on the gas tank door. Unfortunately, the gas cap had nothing to do with the check engine light, but after I took my car in to get repaired due to a broken fuel pump, the new gas cap didn't cause any emission leaks, so it's safe to report that it worked just as the original part.

A Great Gas Cap Replacement That Actually Works!
Wow! I'm impressed. I have a Honda Civic 2003 LX and recently the check engine light came on, so I ran my OBD car system scanner on it and it was giving me an error code P1456 "(Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Control System Leakage (Fuel Tank System) EVAP". and after doing some research that usually entails you have a faulty or damaged gas cap that is going out. So I purchased this after reading the glowing reviews and I can confirm it worked. Once I put this new gas cap on, the check engine light didn't disappear right away but after driving 30 to 50 miles which that is when the cars system does another system diagnostics check, the check engine light turned off. And after this my OBD scanner said there were no error codes and no issues found. I'm very satisfied with this gas cap, and impressed with the build quality and I'm especially happy that it fixed my check engine light issue. I recommend it.

It fits and tightens to seal correctly
Fits and works as expected. It’s a bit bigger than the original on the Civic but just seems cosmetic. Hopefully that solves the check engine light.
