Surprisingly good build quality.
The construction looks robust. The tips look like they will last for a while but it is good to see spares in the box and I can buy more if they wear out. Setup is simple.Adjusting the temperature control to 3/4 seemed ideal for the wired components I needed to solder. The tip whetted nicely. The station is weighted and will not move around. The large illuminated on/off switch is good for seeing if the iron is on or off quickly from across the room. (Better for safety and to not waste power or soldering-iron tips)My only (very) minor negative is that the soldering-iron cable is typical of all at this price point. This means that it is not the most flexible and fights you a bit in our cold climate as you move the iron to the left or right of the station. I'm hoping this will ease with more use.

Good iron on a budget
Budget soldering iron that’s good quality, heats up reasonably quickly and the variable temperature is a good feature, came with 4 spare tips which should last a long time. I own several soldering irons and this cheap one is comparable to some that cost 4 times as much.

Useful soldering station.
Nice little soldering station. The stand for the iron is very useful especially while waiting for the iron to heat up. The temperature control is not a fine as it would have you believe but it is still quite impressive for the price.

Great soldering station
Very good for the price which includes 5 different tip shapes. Have used it for brass work and electrical repair and found the variable heat setting a god send.

Irritating buzzing noise when heat thermostat is turned down.
Seems like a reasonable value for money soldering iron with the advantage of being able to vary the temperature and change the bits, although it does make quite a loud buzzing noise when the thermostat is reduced from full which is irritating.

Should be much more expensive
Excellent piece of kit. Used to build some pretty delicate PCBs with some sensitive transistors and diodes and went very smoothly!

Would not recommend. Fell apart during use
Buy cheap buy twice (but not the same one again!)Dangerous design fault and/or quality assurance. I had the same issue as others have mentioned, in that the tip fell out whilst in use. Could have been very nasty. The collar at the end of the body is very poorly fixed. Had only used the iron about. half a dozen times. Not convinced that the temperature control is that accurate either.

Very Good Iron
Very happy with this iron. Temp control is good. Tips tin easily. Works as well as many much more expensive irons IMHO. The only problem is the leads being a little on the stuff side, but what do you expect for this price. Also Tips are ready available !!... thats a big one in it's favour. I'm using it for delicate elctronics soldering on small PCB's and have no problems in use.
