Is it a good toy for a 7 year old boy

I think it's suitable. Even if your 7 year old is a very mature child for his age. The truck does exactly what the real version does. It scoops up the garbage bin, lifts it and the lid automatically tilts back to let the rubbish fall down the shoot into the truck. It's very cute then with a button the back lid opens and you can empty the truck of its garbage. Hope this helps.

Can you get a replacemt bin for this truck?

To be honest I don't know. You would have to contact the seller of this toy. He might know if the makers of this toy sell the bins as additional toys. Hope this helps.
