This will change your life! Buy it now, if not sooner.
This has now become my favourite kitchen gadget. It took over from my 'Moulin' grater which is still fabulous but not used daily.Disclaimer: everything presented here is my own view. I have not received any freebies or incentives from any of the companies mentioned in this review. This is the kind of review I'd found on Amazon but had to spend many hours of research and trial and error to get to where I hope this gets you!I had never heard of cold brew until a few months ago when reintroducing myself to coffee after having fallen out of love with it due to far too many insipid Nespressos. I starting researching different brew methods and discovered that the world has gone mad with coffee innovations - well, maybe not the world, but East London definitely.I'll tell you about the product first and then share some information with you about beans, grinding, etc which I didn't know before and took me a long time to accumulate, so I help both help! So, this product is typically Japanese. Utterly functional and very simple. It also happens to be beautiful and would fit in to any environment and looks wonderful when used at the table having just come out of the fridge, appearing 'frosted' with condensation and the light shining off the filter and producing a caramel colour at the top graduating down to a rich brown. All you do is put 80g of coffee in the filter, pour in 1.1L of water, put the top on, put it in the fridge and LEAVE IT FOR 8 HOURS minimum. Now, if you're reading this and know about cold brew, you'll read on regardless. If you're not familiar with cold brew - I thought the same as you. Eight hours? I could just about fly to Colombia, get some beans and bring them home in that time (ish) ... but let me tell you it's worth it. The resultant coffee is smooth, tasty, low in acidity and with the most incredible flavour. You don't have to drink it cold either, you can warm it up, too. It just had to brew cold. Washing up is easy, too as you just take out the filter, discard the coffee (or save it to make your own coffee body scrub or to use in the garden/compost) and give the filter, carafe and top a quick wash and you're done.So aesthetics, tick. Easy of operation, tick. Washing up. Tick. Experience - WOW.You can google what to do with it and I'd recommend looking at Union coffee's website and searching for 'cold brew' on YouTube as there are some hilarious videos but here's what I do:Firstly, let me introduce to you the 'rule of 18s' :Unroasted coffee beans are good for 18 months;Roasted coffee beans are good for 18 weeks (especially if stored in a decent container like the Planetary Design Airscape - available on Amazon);Ground coffee is good for 18 minutes.Using my Hario Skerton hand grinder (don't bother with an electric one unless you want to spend £500+ - set it to 6 clicks and grind 80g of newly roasted coffee beans. I buy my coffee from Union in London and it always gets to me within 2 days of roasting, but there are dozens of companies in the UK who offer similar products.Tip the coffee (which will be smelling amazing) into the filter and then cover, slowly, with water, ensuring all the grounds fully soaked. I use Evian as at the end of the day, if you use London tap water, the resultant product is still going to have that chemical taste. If that's a bit extravagant, then please use a Brita filter. Even using Evian and top-notch coffee it works out at under a Fiver for 1.1 Litres ... stick that in your Starbucks! Then you pop the lid on, bung it in the fridge and WAIT. Eight hours is recommended as the minimum. Do it before you go to bed or before you go to work and then you won't be tempted to cheat! I leave mine in the carafe and it's good for a few days if you keep it in the fridge. If I am on a run, then I transfer my brew to a Arcoroc Quad Fridge Jug which is, helpfully, also 1.1L.And that's it. Prepare, Brew, WAIT, Enjoy, Smile ... repeat

Love the design
This is a fantastic cold brewer! Minimalistic design and functions really well. 80 g of coffee will give you 1.150L cold brew.

Functional elegant simplicity.
Extremely functional and elegantly simple design. Very easy to use and wash. Perhaps worth noting that the lid doesn't provide air seal.
