No it is not inflated separately, the entire sleeping pad is connected and the air flows freely between all parts. The pillow does have the air outlet valve on it.

Does this pad help you stay warm

It’s not really designed to keep you warm, however is extremely comfortable with a blanket or sleeping bag.
