will my old remote still work if I program this one?

I just bought an extra because we bought my daughter a car and programmed it and the other two still work

What is the range of this remote?

From my experience with this remote, I would have to say less than 25 feet. My opener rcvr is roughly 10 ft from the door and from windshield to bumper about 6 ft. Add another 2 - 3 ft for door to car distance. Mine works like a champ. Actually better than I had any right to expect. Once programed, press and hold until the door operates. Release.
