WHITINWomen's Minimalist Barefoot Shoes

First barefoot shoe — pull the trigger!
Love the design. These remind me of my vapormaxes, minus the back pain and instability I experienced from wearing those. The all black look is sleek and looks great in person. Nice reflective detail on the heel tab. All this with zero branding makes these the epitome of what a "minimalist" shoe should be to me, in all senses of the word. Ordered a half size up to 10 from 9.5 (in Nike) and think it was the right decision as there is more room in the toe box for splay. They do take some getting used to however (transition appropriately!). I don't run, and have on and off disc/si joint pain. These are mainly an everyday plus gym shoe. I took the insoles out straightaway. Two weeks in and I look forward to: walking (forefoot now — tip: watch Grown and Healthy on YT), being intentional with my gait, feeling different surfaces under my feet, even driving is more engaging. Without getting into too much of the details I feel much more stable and connected with my body from the ground up. And I have no doubt this trend will only continue with time.So thank you Whitin for making an awesome entry-level option to the barefoot shoe market!

Great value
I have used these as my daily shoes for the last 6 months and they have held up well. I only keep one pair of shoes at a time and replace as necessary. On walks with a lot of gravel you can really feel the sharp rocks. I will probably look at other wide toe box, zero drop shoes that have a midsole going forward to be more versatile. If I was like most people that have numerous shoes I would definitely buy these again for the office, mall, groceries etc.

Tiny toe box
These don't have a wide toe box at all. You really need to look at the shoe profile on the whitin products before purchasing because some of their shoes are great and some, like these, are way too tight.

At first they were good
This were great at first, but then after a few months of use, the top lace wore through the eyelet. Unfortunately, there is no customer service email or phone to get in touch with the company. Beyond the Amazon return window, you're out of luck.

Good barefoot choice, but toe box is narrow.
I like the construction on these a lot so far. I live in Hawaii, so I prefer my feet to be able to breathe. These really allow that due to the mesh design, and so they stay comfortable where other shoes I use are not. I often wear a size 44 but I've been getting 43 lately, as I did with these, and it fits great with little to no excess toe room (which I like because it makes the shoe feel snug and form fitted). I'd say they are true to size. The sole has a bit more rubber than my typical preference but again in Hawaii this is nice because I spend a lot of time on lava rocks which absolutely demolishes barefoot shoes. My only complaint is that the toe box is narrow. My feet, despite wearing barefoot for nearly a decade, remain rather narrow. So this works for me. But if you have wide feet or your toes have a healthy spread, these are going to be too narrow for you. Check the measurements and consider how you like shoes to fit. These will feel good, comfortable and breathable for most people I think, but if you know you have wider feet or a wider toe spread, just know that you're pushing it with these shoes. That being said, I would totally buy them again and recommend them.
