Excellent product as such. WiFi troubleshooting support needs improvement
I am very happy with the speaker. JBL product quality doesn't really need explanation. After experimenting with many cheap and expensive brands, I don't think I would ever buy any portable speaker other than JBL. By now, I have 3 Flips and an older Charge, all working flawless for years. This new Charge 5 Wi-fi sounds amazing and battery lasts a week playing low volume background music over home WiFi some 8-10 hrs per day.I do have to say that I struggled with the WiFi connection via the JBL ONE app. After hours searching in the JBL website and my internet provider for support, double and triple resetting speaker, router and phone several times and in ridiculous sequences suggested, I kept on receiving "We are unable to connect your product to Wi-Fi, TRY AGAIN". At some point out of frustration I regretted the purchase, (knowing I was trading the reliable 3.5MM audio jack connector for the new WiFi option).Fortunately, after countless hours on the internet searching for alternative troubleshooting info, St. Google led me to some nerds' forum which I can't even find again (but God bless their dedication), suggesting also to try the process with another phone. The thing is that the "other phone" available was my wife's, which is exactly the same model I have (Samsung S22), so I really didn't believe in the suggestion, but I tried the last resort anyway.Surprisingly, with the 2nd phone, the speaker connected literally in seconds to our home WiFi. Not only that, immediately then my "broken" phone also showed the speaker in JBL app like if nothing wrong ever happened. To date, I have no idea what caused the problem, but the speaker has been working flawless over home Wi-Fi and controlled by either phone irrespective, plus another older phone that we keep as remote.I understand that Wi-Fi is a relatively new venture for JBL as well, so I believe sharing this experience might help others in case they stumble upon the same "problem" which might not even be JBL's fault. However, JBL still needs to improve their troubleshooting support. If it wasn't because of that nerds forum, I would have returned the speaker, not knowing it was not even a speaker problem.Cheers.

JBL WiFi speaker sets up easily and just roars.
WiFi speakers easily beat Bluetooth. (This unit has both.) And this JBL Charge 5 WiFi astonishes. I added this to my Google Home and have the entire house on sync'ed WiFi surround sound. Wonderful sound with rich JBL clarity in a manageable package.Playing Spotify and other streaming music everywhere now, in sync across devices, and audibly better sound than Bluetooth.Build quality is top-notch as I expect from JBL. Setup using the JBL One app was clear and easy. Google Home recognized the JBL automatically. Unit is robust, charges with USB-C, thank you.And it pours out sound. I just bought another.

Amazing Speaker
Long battery life, crisp clear sound, the powerbank has saved my phone from dying on multiple occasions while working on road. Easy to connect, I wish I had one of these back in the early 2000s when I'd road trip from Spokane to Minneapolis. They usually sell retail for $179.99 but you can find some like new speakers for around $100. Well worth it. I paired my Charge 5 with a Red silicone case that has a handle and strap, and it looks like something Deadpool would rock.

Product mislabeled: they are selling bluetooth only versions but claim they are WIFI
Anyone buying these knows there is a difference between the upgraded wifi connected verision and the plain bluetooth one. I purchased one of these and saw immediately that on the box it only listed bluetooth 5.1 (while the WIFI version lists wifi and Bluetooth 5.3), even though they put an aftermarket sticker on it stating it was a Wifi version. So, I was sold a WIFI version which was NOT a wifi version. So I returned it and bought it again under the same listing. Guess what? The second unit was another mislabeled unit as the box clearly showed it was a bluetooth 5.1 only. So, not sure what's going on here, but check the outside of the box and make sure it says WIFI on it and Bluetooth 5.3. If not, return it.

Wifi disconnect issue fixed with software upgrade
Great sound and battery life. Be sure to upgrade the software using the JBL One app to version OneOS 3.0 24.39.53.60.00. This update seems to have fixed wifi connections problems. Be able to use Google Home and speaker groups is real plus. I have two sound bars and the JBL Charge 5 wifi and I can use any combination of them. The Bluetooth connection works great also.

10/10

All charge 5's are wonderful.
The speakers are excellent for most all uses. The portability is good as long as you are getting a signal. The big issue one will have is being taken for a ride by the seller. I was seriously scammed once as the posting said nothing about the product coming from China. I also discovered that the website used by the scammers was a Jewelry company here in the US. I notified them so they could take action and advised the selling site about the fraud. Be very careful regarding the seller when purchasing used or refurbished JBL's.Oh yeah. After much back and forth the selling site did cough up a refund.

Fantastic Sound and Battery Life
I recently tried out these speakers and was genuinely impressed with the sound quality—they deliver clear audio with great depth, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. The battery life is outstanding, easily lasting through extended listening sessions without needing a recharge, which has been a huge plus for me.The speakers work smoothly overall, and I think they offer excellent value for the price. They provide the functionality you’d expect, with no major issues in basic use. However, I did notice some mixed results when it comes to WiFi connectivity. All in all, if you’re looking for solid sound quality, long-lasting battery life, and great value, these speakers are a fantastic choice. Just be prepared for the occasional WiFi quirk.
