First off, this sensor would need to be protected against heat. The cabling and housing would be adversely affected. Glass fiber cabling is highly recommended, in high heat applications. Apart from that, only trial and error and placement at the longest distance possible will determine the accuracy. These sensors give us great results on conveyor applications. The response time is very quick.
