Direct Wire Harness for Pioneer Headunits (only Compatible with Toyota and Subaru)

Bought this to use for a pioneer head unit replacing older another pioneer head unit on a 1997 toyota landcruiser. Took 10 minutes to install. Removed the old unit and harness. Plugged in this harness to the 2 gray plugs in the dash to bypass the factory amp. Unplugged the factory amp connections on the amp behind the glove box. Also hooked up a backup camera by splicing the purple wire to the red wire coming off the camera RCA connection. The other end of the camera runs to the back of the vehicle and hooks to a reverse light harness. This part of the job had already been done by a previous owner. Installed the new pioneer into the dash and everything fired right up. This was much easier than splicing all the wires on a Pioneer harness to a Metra harness. All the hard work is already done with this product.

This harness to aid in installation of an aftermarket stereo in an older Toyota 4Runner made the job so much easier and faster than if I had gone the self inventive route. I would have had to study and decipher the wiring color schematics of the toyota wiring bundles, and how they related to the two Pioneer plug cattails. This reduced the difficulty level from say, passing a state bar exam to taking the SAT.The instructions did appear to make the assumption that the buyer would be aware of the differences between the 28-pin product and what my installation required. But it only took a few minutes of online research to solve that puzzle.Overall, the harness saved me several hours of frustration, perspiration and problem solving. The stereo in now installed and programmed. Now if there were somewhere I could road trip to ....

The media could not be loaded. I'm glad I live in an era where someone realized most after market radios use the same connections and car manufacturers use similar wiring for radios, this wiring harness makes all my aftermarket radio installs a breeze. Fit on my 06 sienna, non JBL, and it supports the hookups for a converter to maintain steering wheel controls.

The description is misleading. I purposely bought this harness so that my steering wheel volume buttons function with my Pioneer head unit. You will need to buy ANOTHER harness in conjunction with this one.

In my Tacoma I installed a JVC KD-RD79BT with this Harness. I was not able to fit the connector to the stereo directly into the JVC unit since it is made for a pioneer, however there are divits on both sides of the connector that are slightly too big for this radio. I was able to file down the plastic on both sides of the connector and once that was done it was a natural fit! the pins are all the same and now my stereo is working flawlessly! This saved me alot of time!

The color of some wires are not the same as Pioneer harness. The instructions are there and can be understood if read carefully.It has an extra power and ground cable for additional items such as reverse camera but can be used for anything.Plug and play is a lot easier than wiring up each wire from the aftermarket head unit so definitely saves time and effort.

so i used this to hook up a pioneer head unit. everything worked great except when i tried to hook an amplifier up. the remote wire was not in the right location on my 2008 rav4. so i had to pull the stereo back out and i found that the red wire was going to my grey accessory on/off wire. the blue remote had no voltage with the key turned on or off. so i cut the red wire and hooked my remote up to it. everything works perfect now

Additionally, with their vehicle make/model specific harness, everything you need is integrated. In my case, the only exception being the radio and SiriusXM antenna adapters to keep my OEM antennas.These guys are very helpful and know their stuff about the products they provide, even nuance things about each vehicle.
