What size is the tip? Trying to work with super tiny staples and all other tools we’ve tried are too wide

I’d give this tool a whirl. It definitely has the ability to get some teeny tiny staples. I used it to remove three generations of rusty carpet staples on a set of original stairs in a 1920s home, that had been flooded multiple times. Aside from being great quality, it truly is designed to get the job done. My husband thinks this tool was 50xs faster than using some of the other stuff we found online.

Does it dent the riser when prying?

if the riser is oak no, if it's pine yes.

Most of my staple are pretty flat against the stairs. Is this tool thin enough and strong enough too pry them out of the oak??

Yup worked perfect for my stairs had probably 300 Staples. You can just tap the back of the metal prying side with a small hammer to get underneath them. Most of my Staples were buried in the wood and could still get under them. It is strong enough and has a fine point so should be able to get virtually any staple up out of the wood.
