AQUASTRONG In/Above Ground Pool Pump, High Flow (Dual Speed with Timer, 2HP, 5186 GPH, 115V)

Quiet. Its so QUIET. but yet so powerful. I replaced a 2hp pump with this 1.5 and every now is in balance with the pool and my heater and the pool vacuum. I thought it was not going to have enough power but......SURPRISE!. Its a long overdue upgrade. Its must buy. High speed to vacuum and low speed to run heater and keep the water moving . I love it.

It was time to update our in-ground pool filter and pump system. This pump is awesome. There has been a little bit of a learning curve with the built in timer but we quickly figured it out. My favorite thing about this pump is how quiet it is. Hubby left it running all night and I did not notice it. Our old pump would keep me up all night.

I am very familiar with the AQUASTRONG brand of pool pumps, and I can confidently say that this 1.5HP Above-Ground Pool Pump with Timer (115V, 8100 GPH) does not disappoint. The pump is well-made and includes the necessary adapters (they must be used)for attaching to 1.5" and 2" schedule C-PVC plumbing. It is durable and effectively performs its primary function: moving water. While I cannot verify the GPH rating, I would estimate it to be in that range. The actual flow will always be influenced by factors such as plumbing size, length, number of turns, and variations in voltage.The filter basket is designed to hold a significant amount of debris, preventing it from passing through your pump. It can be easily removed using the included spanner wrench to loosen the transparent lid. The pump is equipped with a 110V-115V cord that has a standard U.S. plug. As with all pumps, be sure to connect it to a circuit that is protected by a GFCI.One important feature that some bargain pumps lack is a drain plug for the filter basket well and a separate drain for the impeller housing. This pump includes both features, which is crucial for draining any remaining water completely before winter storage.In terms of noise, it doesn't seem any louder than other pumps in its category. You can easily have a conversation with someone standing next to it while it's running. I know for certain that the neighbors cannot hear it.The pumps included in do-it-yourself swimming pool kits are often underpowered and last only a season or two. For optimal water health, a pool should cycle its entire volume at least once a day, preferably twice. Unfortunately, standard kit pumps usually can't manage this. Upgrading to a more efficient pump with a timer will keep your water clean and save you money by allowing for proper run times. Please know that this pump can also be used for spas, koi ponds, waterfalls, fountains, and other water features.Conclusion: This pump exceeds my expectations, which is my requirement for a five-star rating. The 1.5 HP AQUASTRONG In/Above Ground Pool Pump has more than enough water flow for my 24' above ground pool and sand filter. When the pump is running the noise level is very low and it feels made from durable materials. I would have preferred different outlet sizes to match my one-and-a-half-inch flexible water lines. I took an outlet to the hardware store and was able to adapt them down fairly easy, but it was time and money I didn't need to spend if a simple adapter had been included with the pump. The outlets with this pump do not fit an above ground 1.5" water hoses you will have to adapt them down (see pics). Compared to some of the other pumps out there this Aquastrong pump is a good value for the money and offers the same functionality and suction power as the other brands. The timer is easy to use and super convenient being built right into the pump.

Aquastrong continues to deliver value, quality and performance in their pumps! This pump performs above and beyond the advertised specifications and has yet to disappoint. Highly recommend to anyone looking to replace their pool pump, such a great value and awesome performance for the price! Assembly/instructions are both very straightforward, very easy to install for most do-it-yourselfers!

Wow, this pump is an absolute tank. It is very high-powered, and thus capable of moving double the amount of water (in gallons per hour) as my old pump. So with this pump, it consumes more energy, but for a MUCH shorter time span, as I only have to run this pump a fraction of the time as my old pump to achieve the same or better results. Bottom line, this pump cleans the pool very quickly, and so I need to spend much less time cleaning and waiting to swim. The build quality is everything I would expect from a top-end brand. The fit and finish are immaculate, and every component echoes the quality. I really like the timer function being present on the pump itself, rather than needing to have a separate timer, as my old pump required. And I also love the thoughtful design of the filter basket cover and removal tool. My old pump was such that the filter basket tool was only functional in one direction -- removal of the cover to service the basket. But with this pump, the filter basket tool is smartly designed with a peg-in-hole design that allows it to be used to both tighten and remove the filter basket cover without any struggle, and with confidence that it is tightened properly. This pool pump is a good value for the money, and a serious machine when it comes to moving and cleaning a large volume of water quickly and efficiently.
