Major design defect.
All of my previously owned Igloo chests have an inside strap that prevents opening beyond 90 degrees. This one does not & if you do the rear hinges will pop loose. I had to use two Bessy clamps which I fastened over the two rear hinges with the front latch fastened. With considerable pressure from the clamps, the two rear hinges slid into position. If you purchase this item, be sure you have real clamps to go with it.Edit: Knowing what I know, I picked up the empty chest by the lid & it popped off! I'm getting good with my clamps.Edit 1.0: I created a "fix" that made this chest usable. I took a large 3/8" wide cable strap, drilled a 1/8" hole in the center & then attached it to the lid & box as shown above. Predrill the holes in the chest. I used a #8 pan head. Don't unnecessarily over-tighten.

Lid not attached well
Lid fell off after being left open for a while. This happened within month of purchasing the cooler. I was able to reattach it, but it was not easy.
