Is it possible to buy a replacement post? My son broke it the first week he used the product.

Just send it back to Amazon and ask for a replacement, use their return process on-line.

Would this work good for target practice?

This product is designed as a defensive mannequin. However I guess it could work for target practice, depending on what is being shot at it. You may have to add additional weight to the base.
