Is this version of the playmobil ghostbusters ecto-1a discontinued by the manufacturer?

Why is this so expensive

I don't believe Ecto-1a is still in production so the price has gone up slightly. Also, it is a licensed product and has 13 led lights on it. But it's very well made

What is the difference between this and the older model Ecto-1?

The older set is the Ecto-1 from the first Ghostbusters movie. In Ghostbusters 2 the car is updated and renamed Ecto-1A. This set is for the second vehicle.

Does it fit in the Playmobil Ghostbusters Firehouse?

It can fit in the firehouse you have to put the satellite sideways for it to fit in the firehouse
