Take it from a left-handed person, the channel knife will not cut for a lefty. The zested piece will.

Will this really work for lime zest?

Yes, I have used two of these zesters on lemons, limes and even an orange. They work very well, and you can get almost every piece of zest off a lime with one of these.

Does this help with recipes that call for zest of lemon or orange?

Yes. I have never zested an orange, but plenty of limes and lemons so I’m sure it would work with an orange. It also has the main part for the regular zest, plus the side option for the twirly garnish.
