I bought a pack by grabber about 2 years ago where you could put a partially used warmer and then get it out later….is this still an option?

Once you open the package you have to use it. You can go back 3 or 4 hours later and re-shake the item and you should be able to finish using it.

Will they "go off" and get hot by themselves?

you do not need to shake them ..that will make them hotter faster but shorten the time they will last by a little. Seller Sports-Nuts
