I measured and double-checked to be sure this would fit the Stihl handle I currently had but no dice! The blade is incredibly sharp and I would have been honored to wield it had I been given the opportunity to do so. I didn't even take it out of the plastic. I had hoped that the blade was sightly shorter but, comparing it to the old blade, the holes didn't even come close to lining up or I would have seriously considered adjusting them with a drill press. Maybe next time I'll be successful in my quest for a brand new saw blade.

I changed this replacement blade in about 2 minutes, very easy. The pattern of the cutting teeth is the same but the new blade was about 1 inch longer. It still fit in the scabbard with no problem. This saw has been an excellent cutter for me that I can wear around my waist, but even this saw after a couple of years started to dull out on some of the harder dead wood that it used to cut thru no problem. You should know that this saw can cut thru the bigger stuff like 8 inches or so with no problem. It cuts very quickly too and really negates thinking about having a chain saw. This is really a very excellent product!!

This is my goto saw for hiking, biking and trail maintenance patrols.Other more expensive saws are around, I suppose they are better but using this close to the ground or rocking the blade is less cringe inducingHiking and MTB trips in the San Gabriel Mtns you frequently encounter down trees and branches surrounded by impenetrable Chaparral, and dead falls making getting through painful and bloodyI don't leave the trailhead without it!

I used Silky Sugoi saws for several years, and switched to Samurai Ichiban saws because they are less than half the price. The Samurai cuts almost as well as Silky, and stays sharp almost as long, but I recently snapped a Samurai blade when it got pinned in a tree and I was levering it out. Overall, I decided Samurai is the better value.

Cuts well but wobbles when it cuts. Makes it difficult to control when on top of 20 foot pole.
