Not just for factory-backed race teams!
The revised? substantially rewritten? edition of Tony Foale's "...theory and practice," _Motorycle Handling and Chassis Design: the art and science_ is a thorough and astonishingly clear exposition of what makes motorcycles handle (or not, as the case may be!) Profusely illustrated with both photographs and diagrams (only in B&W, regrettably), the explanation of every factor of motorcycle chassis dynamics possible is laid out in detail. There are only two drawbacks to this text: first is that there is *so* much to absorb, & unfortunately, not enough opportunity for most of us to actually apply & experiment 1st-hand with the concepts involved. The second HUGE drawback is that it is only available thru the author at the rather hefty sum of 71 Euros at the time of this writing. [Plus shipping from Spain, etc. etc.] This is unfortunate, because anyone with even a minor technical interest in motorcycling can benefit from its perusal, but most are unlikely to ever see it. Some motorcycle magazine somewhere would do well to get the bright idea of paying the author for copyright & serializing the thing!
