I'm really pleased with this roof rack for my Wrangler JL. It fits perfectly and was incredibly easy to install. I was able to set it up in no time at all, without needing any special tools or help. The instructions were clear and straightforward, which made the process hassle-free. Once installed, it feels sturdy and secure, which gives me confidence when carrying gear on top. The design is sleek and complements the look of my Jeep nicely. Plus, it's versatile enough to accommodate different types of cargo, from bikes to luggage. I was looking for a set of cross bars to go with my Yakima rooftop cargo carrier. I was skeptical about the drip edge mounting set up and weight rating.I was very impressed with the overall quality out of the box. The set up and installation took about 20 minutes. I made a few test runs with the cargo box mounted and was impressed with how quiet it rode. The rails held well and I gained confidence for my trip.3400 miles later I was thrilled with how well they held the cargo box. We ran into significant wind during our travels and everything held beautifully.Upon my return I made a mistake with removal and damaged a part. I contacted Hooke Road and they were amazing to work with. They really stood by their product even though I explained how I was the problem…. That level of service will bring me back to their product line again.

This was very easy to install and worked perfectly to transport a kayak. However, to mount it there are screws you need a hex key. As I was tightening them, the bolt heads were very soft and are starting to deform. I'm not sure I'll get very many uses considering this will be on and off the jeep a lot. Not much faith in the mounting hardware but the rack is nice.

Just wanted to share and let you know this fit very nice on my 2017 wrangler Sahara unlimited and is great quality.

This is actually my second set, and I love them. Second set not due to product problems but more user error.I got these for our kayaks racks and kayaks. Between out first set and this second set, we have been using them for 4 years. Most seasons they end up staying on through the whole season with thr kayak racks attached. One year they were on all year with the racks attached.They are easy to place on and take off after assembled. We leave our kayak racks on them because it is the easiest way for us, as that is all we use them for. Our kayaks are 12 ft long. We have had them on and been in some pretty bad wind, and the rails stood up to all of it. When we broke the 1st set I was unable to find them again here and was rather upset since they are amazing. Eventually they came back and we ordered them.Please note that when the box comes it is long and awkward. It you live in apartments or have to carry it stairs, please note that fact. Otherwise overall we would definitely recommend these to anyone with a Hardtop.

Quick and easy install. I got them for moving things (ladders, kayaks, etc.). They work great for my needs and at a good price. I’m not leaving anything on them unattended so the fact that they don’t lock on is not an issue for me. They go on and off quickly with Allen wrenches so if you need locking racks I would look elsewhere and expect to spend a good bit more for a similar quality rack with locks. I’m happy with this purchase.

This rack is great if you don't want to take the freedom panels off. It was easy to install, very sturdy, and I love it. Unfortunately, I want to remove the panels so I needed to order a new rack. :-( Both racks can not be put on the back half. The front rack is too small to fit on the back :-(This is great for the price. update, I tried to use it and kept going back to not being able to remove front panels. It was extremely easy to remove and rebox to return. Sad this didn't work but great product.

Firstly, they were a bit annoying to install, as the vertical pillars are not adjustable on the crossbars, so the rear one was a bit tricky to seat properly in the roof gutters of my JL 2024 Rubicon to allow the rear doors to close without interference from the rack, since the roof flares out and is wider toward the rear, making the rear rack slightly short.Secondly, I didn't like that the vertical pillars have sharp, bare plastic making contact with the painted roof. I felt like that was begging for damage to the paint, so I added a cushioning rubber tape to the plastic edge. That's something the manufacturer should provide, or include a rubber cap for the edge.Once they were installed, the aluminum crossbars seemed flimsy. I put two inflatable standup paddle boards - which are not heavy at all - on the rack and the crossbars flexed quite a lot. Anything heavier, like a kayak, would probably flex the crossbars to the point of making contact with the roof.Lastly - and the straw that broke the camel's back - the weather stripping which fits in the groove across the length of the crossbar is too short by maybe 3/4 inch on each side. The second time I took the car on the highway, apparently wind worked its way into that gap and pulled the weather stripping right out of the front crossbar, which flew into the air behind me and landed on the road in front of the car behind me. Could have caused an accident. After that, there was a horrible constant whistling sound at highway speed from the crossbar.So, needless to say, I returned these and bought a different set on Amazon, which were the same price, yet included adjustable width pillars so installation was a breeze, rubber caps on the plastic edge of the pillars to protect the roof, locking covers for the bolts to attach the pillars, the weather stripping extends the full length of the crossbars and locks in place with the end caps, and much sturdier crossbars (200lb weight rating). It's not even close which one is a better product and at the same price.
