As described. Fit well.
They fit my humidifier well. I wish we had a washable option.

The Solution
As many here have remarked, the filter hardens, turns reddish-brown, and stops absorbing water after 4-7 days. However the solution is simple - just flip the filter over such that the brownish area is touching the water. It will re-absorb water then. I basically flip the filter around every week until about 4 weeks when it stop absorbing water completely. Then replace with a new filter and repeat flipping weekly.

Lower cost alternative
Seem to perform the same as the branded Vornado pads at a slightly lower price.

Work well and better quality then those supplied with humidifier.
Item is as described and seems to be of better quality than the original wicks that came with the humidifier

If you're having trouble -- it's not the wick, and it's easy to fix. Wet them first! =)
I have two Vornado EVDC300s that are running full-time in a VERY dry climate. They work perfectly to take the humidity from as low as 15% up to around 40-45%. HOWEVER -- you have to maintain them properly and understand how they work. I've seen reviews saying the tanks leak -- no they don't, it's actually the base that can leak IF you insert the wick improperly, which causes the wick to pull up water then drip it out over the edge of the base. I've seen reviews that say these wicks don't pull up water -- yes they do, but it REALLy helps to fully wet them before inserting. This serves 2 purposes -- it makes them more pliable and allows you to insert them properly. It also gets the wicking action started, if you insert dry it may not ever fully wick up to the top.Another problem that can happen with these is if the unit is on on uneven or unlevel surface (or sometimes just because of an idiosyncrasy with air in the tank), the wick that was working fine stops wicking. That's easy to notice in a dry climate because you suddenly don't need to refill the tank every day -- in this case simply pour water over the wick (some may spill out the vents, just wipe it up) and that will get it started again. This type of evaporative humidifier may not be the best for everyone -- if you prefer set and forget maybe you prefer a misting humidifer. HOWEVER -- the reason I love these is they only put the humidity into the air. Misting humidifiers work by using ultrasonic waves to "explode" the water which creates a mist containing everything in the water, any contaminants or minerals end up in your air, so you really should be using distilled water in them, but I'd rather not be buying tons of plastic bottles of water just to fill my humidifiers. I don't mind maintaining the evaporative units, or dealing with the occasional fussiness of the wicks.

Tight fit, but work well. Last about 45 days.
These filters fit into our Vornado EVDC300 energy-saving humidifier. They are a tight fit and seem a bit too large, side-to-side, but this helps them remain strong and upright when wet.Wetting the filters before inserting them helps them slide into the brackets a bit easier, but it's also much easier to crush the filter when it's wet during the installation process. We finally settled on slightly squeezing the dry filters end to end and then gently sliding them into the filter holder -- just make sure the filter is as close to the bottom of the reservoir as possible so that it can absorb the water. They last about a month with maximum output and then by about 45 days, they no longer wick water. We use a humidifier water treatment which is supposed to extend filter life and biological treatment to keep bacteria under control. The filters are not washable and are disposable or possibly compostable. It's not clear what they are made of, but it appears to be a cellulosic type material. There is no metal in them and we cannot see or feel any plastic.A premium value at about $5.75 each when offered at about $23 at the time of our review.
