This globe is beautiful!
Okay, buckle up, buttercup—because we’re about to take a first-class flight on Air Fancy with a carry-on called:THE GLOBE.That’s right. A desk or table globe—aka the spinning champion of class, the geographical eye candy you didn’t know you were missing.Let’s get this out of the way: this ain’t your grandma’s dusty, creaky old globe from 1972 (although, shoutout to Yugoslavia). No, THIS baby is sleek, shiny, and built like the Earth wishes it actually looked. It’s the ultimate flex piece for your desk, shelf, or secret villain lair.Design?Gorgeous. The continents are so crisp, you’ll want to caress Madagascar like a Bond villain plotting your next move. It spins smoother than your best pickup line (and with more accuracy). The colors? On point. The details? Chef’s kiss. This globe doesn’t just show you where stuff is—it whispers adventure.Functionality?Oh, it spins. Like Beyoncé at a world tour. Wanna find Peru? Done. Need to impress someone with casual knowledge of the Balkans? BOOM. You’ve got a world in your hands, baby. Literally.Perfect for:✔️ Aspiring world travelers (or really convincing liars)✔️ Teachers, students, villains, pirates✔️ Office décor that says, “I read and conquer”✔️ Random spins to decide where to move after your 17th life crisisBonus:Instant intellectual street cred. People walk into your office, see a globe, and go: “Wow. This person definitely owns a passport and maybe a monocle.” You can’t buy that kind of sophistication. (Except, you can. By buying this globe.)Final verdict?17/10. A globe that spins? Cool. A globe that makes you look cooler? Priceless.Buy it. Spin it. Plot your next vacation or world domination. Either way… you win.

Classic appearance and easy assembly
This product was easy to assemble, consisting of the globe, the stand (a shaped, wooden dowel), and a metal base. Everything screwed simply into each other. It seems well-made, but I’ve only had it a few days. It also comes with a guarantee that if the globe changes (countries, borders, etc.), Replogle will replace your globe at a 50% discount, which is a nice touch. It stands slightly shorter than I wanted (it states dimensions in the description so I did know how tall it would be), but for the price I’m still very pleased with this purchase. We have a number of geographic atlases to see more detailed information about an area, but a well-made globe at a reasonable price (which this product is) is worth the investment so children can place a site or area of study in relation to where they themselves live or have traveled. As an aside, the globe arrived in ingenious cardboard packaging that protected it well in transit - no styrofoam! That was an added bonus, as styrofoam is such a nuisance.

Screws loosen with use, but very nice globe
This was exactly what I was looking for. My kids absolutely adore it. It is lightweight enough that it can be moved around, but substantial enough that it doesn’t feel cheap. It’s just like one I had as a kid in the 80s. And just like that one, the nuts tend to work loose at the base and the globe, so I took a star off since I’m constantly tightening them. Very nostalgic. Another reviewer mentioned that you can’t tighten the top screw with a screwdriver, but you can get a penny in there to do it. The globe is a good size and easy to read.

Nice
Very nice globe but I thought it was pricey but I had to pay that to get one on a stand.

You’ll want to check way ahead of gifting
It’s my fault. I should have opened it as soon as it arrived but I waited until Christmas Eve to open for wrapping. Only then did I find that that the inside packaging was all ripped up, as if it was a returned item, and that the base was missing, rendering the globe pretty much useless. Otherwise, the globe looks to be in good shape and attractive. I’ll revise my review depending on how the seller responds and if/when they send me the base stand.-UPDATE-The seller responded the day after Christmas to have the base Fedex’d to me overnight but it didn’t actually arrive until the day after. I expected the base to match the stem (wood) but rather it’s all metal and matches the band around the globe. A wood stand would have been nicer and probables heavier and thus more stable. It’s nice enough for my young son.

A Thing of Beauty
This globe is more than I had expected, even from the photos on Amazon and at the Repogle site itself. It is a thing of beauty. Every detail, from the sturdy, multi-colored wood stand (I think the perfect height for sitting with the globe and reading it) on top of a weighted metal support (all easily assembled), to the globe itself—a colorful, easy-to-read, up-to-date globe where you can smoothly skim your fingers over the Apennines and Alps, for instance, and get a real sense of the larger terrain. I had just finished reading Endurance, about the Shackelton attempt at crossing Antartica in 1914-16, and wanted to really experience what the area that they confronted during the expedition was like. The Weddell Sea, Elephant Island, and so on. You can't experience that on a flat map. But on this globe, everything seems to come to life. The globe came directly from the company in Illinois via FedEx within four days, far faster than was predicted on the Amazon site. It was securely packaged, and the globe and its stand were in perfect condition. Kudos to Repogle and to the folk who designed the map for the globe and the entire design of the product itself.

The WOW gift of Christmas 2022
Bought for my 24 YO son who is a history teacher. I thought I was long past the Christmas morning WOW, but this gift got the WOWThe base was a little tight to screw on, but that wound up being a non issue because it did ultimately screw on tightly. He was so happy to bring this to his classroom.
