Why is my chia seeds not expanding (pudding) while soaked in milk overnight?

the freshness of the seeds definitely impacts how long it takes them to develop their characteristic gel-like coating. be sure you have enough space in the jar for the chia to grow. Chia pudding can clump together if you're not quick to stir. So I recommend whisking with a fork right after you've poured in the milk, waiting a couple minutes, and then stirring again. I have bought these specifically for sprouting and growing actual chia plants as I make tea out of the leaves. I did get some plants out of them so they had to be atleast be fresh enough to be viable

Is it ok ay to ship these chia seeds in 100 degree weather?

All of our superfoods are shelf stable and not affected by summer shipping temperatures, with the exception of our Cacao Butter and Keto Cacao Powder, both of which will melt at temperatures above 96 degrees. Are these spprouting seeds?

Our Chia Seeds will sprout quickly if given the right conditions! However, they're not the usual choice for culinary sprouts due to the seeds' tendency to swell and gel when soaked in liquid. We find them much more enjoyable in smoothies, chia pudding, granola, baking recipes, and oatmeal. You can find a wide variety of recipes on our website under Community → Recipes → Chia

When making pudding there are tiny little stones that make the pudding very gritty. How do you get rid of them?

Chia pudding is certainly full of texture! They little crunchies you get in each bite are from the seed pods that remain intact within the gel that forms when the seed meets water. If you prefer a more homogenous texture, you can blend the pudding after making it, or you can try making it with our gently milled Chia Seed Powder instead of the whole seed.
