A really good deal!!! Long-lasting if you cap the tube after use.
If you're using this for a one-time application, you may want to opt for a smaller tube. However, if you use RTV a lot, this tube will last you a long time and the price is on-point. I saved quite a bit overall by just buying the bigger tube instead of smaller individual tubes. This is like that Granny's hot sauce- I use this s*** on everything!Very good stuff, you can cap the tube for reuse. Good high-temp RTV that resists oil and stuff. I've used it on applications like metal-to-plastic and the adhesion is great. The ease of use and thickness is also better than the smaller tubes in my opinion, because you can control the flow using any caulk gun of your choice.I recommend using a "finger" from nitrile gloves to cap the tube along with a wood screw or bolt. The only downside is it takes a while to cure compared to other similar RTVs (like "Great Stuff", etc).I used this to seal around a throttle body that had a snapped corner bolt on a bmw m50 motor, this was plastic-on-metal, and this RTV has held up for literally over 5 years so far with no signs of cracking or anything else. That's after hundreds or possibly thousands of heat cycles and exposure to CCV oils, etc.So yeah, It's very good.

Great applicator too
Got this to use on rebuilding my locking hubs per someone's recommendation. Used what I needed to and put away, came back later to use on sealing the transfer case and the tube/applicator still worked great.

Only One You Should Own
Sometimes this is hard to find locally and when you are working in a classic car have a tube in your arsenal is a good tool to have. It’s a quality product that fit the bill.

Easier to dispense than Hondabond, but not as strong in terms of adhesion.
Hondabond vs Permatex Ultra Grey. Hondabond won my adhesion test. My project was to create a drip line under a aluminum plate being used as a chimney cap. So, I just needed a line of strongly adhesive, flexible RTV. I tested the two lines against each other. I let it dry for four days under ideal conditions - 78F & 50% humidity. Different than the Project Farm test, the adhesives cured completely, though the Hondabond cured faster. The result was the same as Project Farm. The Permatex had a good seal, but the Hondabond was notably better. When I used a paint scraper to remove each, I made steady progress lifting the Permatex off, but the Hondabond was a real challenge to remove. I had to hack away at it, and even then, it wouldn't all come off the surface. Pretty impressive stuff.Ultimately, however, I ended up using the Permatex because I bought in the caulking tube size and it was much easier to distribute using a caulk gun. I had to run 8' of line and I didn't have the grip strength to squeeze that much out of Hondabond. My hand was hurting just squeezing out a foot of the stuff. That said, it is a "gasket maker" and the Hondabond would serve for that activity with excellence. Just that it's too hard to handle for big projects. Love, life, enjoy.

Excellent RTV Silicone Gasket Maker for High-Torque Applications
The Permatex 82195 Ultra Grey RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is a must-have for anyone working with high-torque and vibration-resistant applications. I've used it on several car repair projects, and it has consistently provided a strong, durable seal that holds up under pressure. The silicone is easy to apply and sets quickly, making the repair process more efficient. It's sensor-safe and non-corrosive, which gives peace of mind when working on sensitive engine parts. The 13 oz tube is a good size for multiple uses, and I appreciate the long-lasting results it delivers. It's reliable in preventing leaks and ensuring that gaskets stay in place. I will definitely buy it again for future repairs.
