This mat is the same as the joy mat, Its just a bigger version so your inserts will fit.

What is the maximum size card that you can cut in one of the four spaces? I presume you can use makes other that Cricut cards?

You need to use the 1x2 that is specifically for the joy the 2x2 only works on the maker and explorer family
