Great value, brand and software package. Open box provided extra value beating out the competition.
I was looking for a somewhat fast modern NVMe drive to replace a quality Samsung 850 EVO 250gb boot drive in my secondary PC. Went with this due to the open item price being the best compared to lesser brand new items. Item came in a quality clear bag in good condition and no signs of wear/tear. Installed it first into a different PC to test it out a bit before cloning the boot drive over in the secondary PC. Installed the Crucial management software and checked the firmware which was already up to date. Short Smart Test passed but Extended gave me write errors and wouldn't let me run the secure erase option stating I needed the driver first. Installed the driver from the prompt in the software and that resolved both issues. I now was able to run the extended test and it passed. I then copy/pasted about 400GB of game folders over to the 500GB drive and speeds were great from another NVMe drive. Certainly faster than SSD transfer sustained speeds. Next I formatted it and installed it in the secondary PC. I used Acronis to clone the SSD over to it and worked perfectly. It's currently the boot drive on a 7600X/B650/3060ti secondary PC and running great. I've only had the drive 24hrs though so hopefully no longevity issues pop up. For the sub 30 I paid it was a great value for a mid ranged boot drive. The all black color of the drive certainly looks better than many cheap NVMe drives if you have a window on the case.Mine was an open box for a great price about 30% less than retail. It did take 16 days to finally arrive though which I was in no hurry. I wouldn't recommend 250gb/500gb drives for anything other then your Boot drive. Install 2TB or bigger for games and storage. That also allows you to keep your operating system drive smaller for faster back ups onto your storage drive. When the time comes to fix your boot drive due to corruption or a bug the back up image file is much smaller so it recovers quicker and also takes up less storage space. I haven't tried Crucial back up solutions but I'm sure there is something in their software. I prefer Acronis as it comes free with WD drives and works great.

One of the easiest upgrades I've done to reinvigorate an older computer.
This item was to replace and older onboard SATA SSD that came with the now 5 year old computer. The storage was full; Windows and gaming was lagging and required periodic reboots. I knew the motherboard had an additional slot for a next generation NVMe SSD but hadn't done it because I didn't want to have to reinstall everything.Crucial provides the tool, Acronis True Image, to do this easily by cloning my old storage to the new storage. The transfer took about 40 minutes. On first boot, I could tell my system was snappier, more responsive, and now with more available space. I plan on getting another 5 years out of this system.

Crucial P3 Plus 4TB installed 2022 Razer Blade Laptop
Installed in a 2022 Razer Blade Advance 3070ti laptop. The laptop has two NVMe slots, one mounted on top of the other. Although the Razer Blade manual states that the max capacity is 2TB per slot, there was no technical problems using a 4TB NVMe. I believe the 2TB limit was printed because at the time of the manufacturing of the 2022 Razer Blade, NVMe larger than 2TB were double sided. Double sided meaning, there were memory chips on both side of the boards. The Crucial P3 Plus 4TB only has chips on one side which mitigates the double stack limitation of the Razer Blade. The one negative, but can't blame the NVMe, is the temp will hit 67-68 degrees C when playing intensive games. Crucial P3 plus data sheet states that normal operating temp is 70 degrees. However, I've read that the NVMe will reduce its performance to keep under normal operating temp. Very similar to GPU and CPU throttling to lower temps. So, I am not sure if the NVMe was throttling performance to reduce temp or the NVMe was getting enough cooling ventilation from the laptops cooling system, i.e. airflow, to keep the temps below 70 degrees C. Also, the Warning Temperature Threshold is 85 degrees, and the Critical Temperature is 95 degrees. I believe 85 and 95 degrees is when the heat will start to do some physical harm to the NVMe.The NVMe arrived in a very tattered box, like the box has been open, contents used, repacked, and then returned. However, after installing and formatting, the NVMe is brand new. Using Crystal Disk Info, the "Power On Cycles" has a value of 1. Meaning it has been powered on and off 1 time and Health status is 100%. I could have return it just in case, but I did get a good price during Prime Days.I also conducted a NVMe read/write test using Crystal Disk Mark and the result came very close to the advertised rated 5000MB/s. The numbers are posted in the photo; 4992 MB/s Read and 4169 MB/s Write.NOTE: There is a Crucial app called Crucial Storage Executive. It provides information very similar to Crystal Disk Info but has a feature named "Momentum Cache" turn on or off. The feature increases the read and write speed of the Crucial NVMe. In my test it almost doubled the read and right speed. The feature is embedded into the NVMe so you don't need to have Crucial Storage Executive running in the backgroud. You can also use Crucial Storage Executive to turn on or off "Over Provisioning" feature.I have purchased many Crucial SSD (3.5 inch and NVMe) and memory chips and have never been disappointed. Crucial is still batting 100 with me with the purchase of the P3 Plus 4TB NVMe.

Works well as my main drive
I am building a workstation computer from scratch to primarily run Solidworks 3D CAD (computer aided design) and wanted it to be as powerful as possible for the lowest reasonable cost. I try and go for products that represent the “knee” in the price-performance curve. For example, you are generally far better off getting something that at half the price that might only perform at 90% of the device costing twice as much. Frequently the difference is only in milliseconds, which you will never notice. I also look for products that are from reputable manufactures and have received decent reviews. This Crucial P3 1TB m.2 SSD was part of my build and meets the above criteria.

Does the job at a fair price
After a month of use, 2 TB of storage has been more than enough for me to download or transfer anything without worrying about running out. As a gen 4, it is faster than the typical user would need. Theres really no words that need to be said other than it does its job and it does it well, at a reasonable price. Even for a reliable brand as Crucial.
