Do these speaker modules activate even without Dolby Atmos content?

It can when you activate all speakers on your receiver setting but if it’s on auto it’ll play when Dolby Atmos is detected.

I have my front and center and 2 surrounds at +5db and what would be the best speaker level I should set my atmos speakers

I have done much research and what I could find was +3 is the best setting for them. You want them in the middle of the db setting from front and rear so they are hear-able but certainly not drowning out either. I have found it hard to find movies that even have this technology yet......

Will these fit on the bp8060st?

Actually, they will not. They are designed for the 9000 series. They are custom designed for ceiling bounce on the 9020, 9040 and 9060 series. I splurged on the 9060’s and these fit right in top. They do sound amazing though!

Do these have the traditional binding posts on the back? Or do they only work with the dt9000 series?

The A90 only works with the 9000 series. I had to return mine for A60 even though they show the A90 as the new replacement for A60.

We have a full 5.1 suite of Definitive Tech towers and surround built into our den ... for 15 years and still going strong ... initial investment was north of $4K. I was struggling for an approach to add Atmos height and found these ... a perfect dimensional fit to our towers. The improvement is amazing since our listening room has 10+ foot ceilings.
