Multiple ingredients make for a good potting soil mix
This is a great potting soil mix. I've used it for several houseplants but added other soil to this mixture. So far, those plants are doing well. I appreciate that there are 7 different ingredients inside this mix. Putting it all together makes for a great well-draining soil mix. One warning—be sure to recognize the size you are ordering. I got the smaller one—it's a pretty small package. I plan to order this product again later, but I will get a bigger bag.

Great product
Repotted two orchids I received for Mother's Day. So far so good. Loved that everything I needed was in this kit.

Much better than anything in the big box stores
Amateur orchid enthusiast who just loves this mix! I added the remnants of a bag of pine bark I had to this mix and it was great for transplanting some of the smaller phalaenopsis orchids I bought off the 75% off cart at Lowe’s.

Not a lot here
Doesn't seem like a quart; maybe half that. I repotted one medium sized orchid and it was barely enough. Also much finer than the other orchid mixes that I am used to; I think much of this soil will fall through the holes of my orchid pot and I'll probably have to repot again in a few months. I needed to get it repotted into a new pot and didn't have time to wait on another bag of soil, so I went ahead with this one. We'll see. There's better options for your money but I do like to support small businesses even if it costs a little more, so that's something to consider.Edit: This soil is retaining a lot of moisture, at least in the pot I have it in. I admit the pot doesn't have as many holes as most orchid pots do, but regardless, the small particles and water retention are making me nervous. I'd proceed cautiously with this soil for orchids if you're worried about overwatering.

So far so good
My orchid seems to be thriving in its new pot and soil. It has really taken to this mixture. It holds water well and I'm just waiting for my new blooms to come in.

Orchid Potting Mix
I had read a lot about this potting mix and it seems like it should be great for my orchids. While it has the usual media found in most potting mixes, there is also a powdery element and I am unsure how it will effect the plants, which is why I gave it 4 stars.
