Good product, easy to use for amateur metal detecting, watch one or two online videos. Buy a pinpointer also because all small items are difficult to spot. Test a few known items in a patch free of metal first. Head set had some tangling - loose wire issues after multiple uses.

Detector is lighter than my other one. Tried it out in my yard. It was finding targets 6-8 in depth. Found some small items that were lost over the years. I found it easy to assemble and use. Made in USA. I would recommend this detector and would buy it again.

I upgraded to the Garret 300 and found the transition to be smooth. Pulls a little downward on the wrist but other than that it’s balanced and lightweight. Nice led display with numerical reference for the target. Volume is loud and is not able to be adjusted. Only way to adjust volume is when using the wired headphones that came with the detector. Until you “learn” the tones and numbers being displayed dig everything. You’ll find more trash than treasure, that’s not the detector’s fault. There are several modes for distinguishing types of targets you’re looking for. The unit is easy to operate, turn it in and go ! Great for beginners and experienced users without investing large amounts of money. Batteries come with it and after 18-20 hours the indicator is still reading “full”You won’t be disappointed in this detector. It’s easy to assemble and with moderate practice you’ll be retrieving treasure in no time. The picture is what i retrieved from a beach club in about three hours. Have fun and enjoy !!

This detector is simple and works great went out for the first time ever today me and my 3 year old had a blast he calls it gold hunting and is addicted already out of all the bottle caps we found we also found a throwing knife crazy! I recommend this for a hobby and family fun!

I needed to find a property marker. I tried to dig for it with no luck - and I knew within a few feet where it was! I used this Garrett detector and I found it in five minutes!!! This detector has a pinpoint function which shows a location strength bar and I could see it get higher and lower in a 10 inch left to right sweep and 10 inch up and down sweep. I pinpointed the marker and dug down 2 inches deeper and found it immediately.Paid for itself in its first outing.I also found my dirt in the northeast has lots of minerals that sets off the detector on any setting over 2 bars. I ordered the super sniper coil which should work better in my soil when looking for small items like coins.

Lots of fun and treasure finding with this great tool. Easy to use, easy to store. Readout is as simple as can be. Recommend for amateurs and old hands alike.

Ran into a hiccup with the first order of the metal detector I ordered for Christmas. The shipper lost the first one I ordered enroute so I had to re-order. I waited until Christmas was over to re-order.Anyhow, everyone was anxiously awaiting it. I got it assembled a couple nights ago, but didn't have a chance to try it out. My son got home, sees it propped up in the corner and first thing he asks is if I tested it. I told him I didn't have time. So what's he do? He grabs it, turns it on and comes over to my chair and directs it to my knees. It goes off quite loud. He exclaims, "yep it works!!" It detected my titanium knees quite well.Right now we took it to visit my daughters family in Florida. My teenage granddaughter and 4 year old grandson took it out this afternoon and had no problem finding buried items. They live on a mini farm so no shortage of things to find. They had a blast. The beach will be the next stop.Haven't had a chance to really do anything challenging yet. If I have any issues I will revise accordingly.I do have one nit though. It does not come with a full manual. The full manual can be downloaded online. If someone older or not familiar with computers ordered this they probably would be very frustrated.
