This is a beautiful mechanical clock. The ticking sound is noticeable but not annoying, and the hourly bell is pleasant.Note that the back of the clock does have a keyhole-shaped opening that would allow for wall mounting, although this is clearly meant to be a table or mantel clock.I decided to place it under a glass dome to protect the exposed mechanism from dust. Instead of the expensive domes I've seen online, I went to a hobby/craft supply store and purchased an extra-large (8x12") glass dome and matching wooden base for about $21 total. This works great, although the dome is a bit too tall, so I'm looking for a pedestal of some kind to place under the clock so that it will be better centered top-to-bottom. The ticking and bell are still nicely audible through the dome.The price I paid for the clock on Amazon was about $50 less than I've seen anywhere else for the same clock. It is clearly brand new, in the correct factory packaging with the documentation. A great buy, I've very happy with it.

Hermle clocks have been in production since 1922. Very fine German craftsmanship. The quality and finish is second to none. The clock is very quiet and the bell is near silent. The only issue I have that Hermle would have extended the winding stem out the rear as well also so you wouldn't have to stop the clock to wind it and to make the bell louder. The clock has a wall mount option. I suggest getting a display dome to keep the dust out and greatly extending the life of the mechanism and makes it look much more expensive. I have mine under an 8 x 10" dome. Search Amazon for B00YW9E8SK. Under the dome it is pretty much silent. I love this clock and considering getting the wall mount weight driven version. Don't hesitate to buy. This is a great clock.

I bought this to replace one that met a sad fate in a fire. This is just like the first and I expect this to last even longer.

This is a beautiful and simple one ring, on the hour, clock. It keeps time perfectly when you follow the directions. I highly recommend it if you want a true windup clock show piece. The only thing that would have made it better would have been the option to purchase a glass dome and base.

This is a great table size clock! It keeps great time and has a nice chime/ bell on each hour. I bought it as a gift for my husband. He loves it!

Received the WALL CLOCK model instead of the TABLE model! This was the second time! First one I and gifting....but to have the same mistake! Sorry I have to return. Otherwise great product!

I like the clock. It is beautifully made. But I cannot seem to adjust it correctly. It runs a little too fast, or a little too slow.
