Never shaving again! 😍
My only regret is being too big of a wimp & not trying it sooner! I’ve used drugstore wax strips before— you know, the ones that rip only some hairs out & you have to keep doing it over & over again to get any kind of result. So painful & so frustrating! This set is dummy-proof, you can’t mess it up! I watched a few TikTok videos & it was so easy to get the hang of. The wax grips on to every hair (the pink one grabbed every peach fuzz amazingly!) it sets up fast & as long as you’re swiping it on thick enough, it should be a quick sting & it’s over. I learned the hard way, too thin & you’ll be in trouble. It’s all in how you prep your skin too! Truly never shaving again & definitely kicking those painful strips to the curb!

Great Experience!
I’d like to state that I am a novice at waxing. I have a terrible reaction to shaving. No matter the blade, technique, or aftercare product, I seem to always end up with terrible razor bumps that hurt badly. With summer coming up, I decided I’ve had enough and want to feel confident showing my legs again. I did quite a bit of research regarding different products and how to wax properly. I watched lots of videos as well- some helpful and some scary. But I quickly learned the scary ones were truly human error or a lack of practice. I’m hoping that sharing my experience can help another beginner like me!Since I wasn’t sure how my skin would react to waxing, I didn’t want to spend a fortune. But I also wanted to do it right. This was a wonderful deal. The warmer is super cute (I got the pink one), and it’s small enough to fit on my bathroom shelf. It’s also not an eye sore and I don’t feel the need to hide it somewhere. Shipping was fast and everything was exactly as described. The manual was very helpful, although I do think it would have touched more on how to operate the actual warmer. However, it ended up not being an issue because it’s easy-peasy. After plugging in and pouring your wax beads, you simply turn the dial to the temp you’d like. 155-160 was perfect for me. The manual does address this, but you must remember that the warmer is going to reach its max temp in order to fully melt the wax (240 something- extremely hot!) The digital reader will rise and then fall back down to your set temp. There’s also a red/green light to let you know when it’s ready (it took about a total of 10-15 minutes.) Test a small amount on your inner wrist before diving into it. This will give you an idea of how it will feel and if the consistency is correct. I feel that it needs to be a bit thicker than honey… more like condensed milk. There is definitely a learning curve to this whole process. Holding horizontally and twisting the stick is your best friend. This helps to create a bulb at the end of the stick. I recommend also using an up and down motion as you twist, similar to a handshake, to separate any strings hanging onto the bulb. If there is any dripping, the wax is way too hot, but this should not happen if you keep it between 155-160. I started on my leg and the technique wasn’t hard to learn, but I was getting sad when I wasn’t picking up much hair. I took a break from that and tried my armpit. This is where I learned a lot. Because my armpits are more sensitive than my legs, and I was anxious about the pain, I peeled the wax much sooner than I was before. It ripped out every hair. And I mean ALL of it. And the pain was so minimal, it took me all of 2 minutes to finish both armpits. The directions say to peel after 30-45 seconds, but this was too long and was making the wax un-stick to my hair. I found more success in waiting about 10 seconds, and so the rest of the waxing was smooth sailing.I’m sure it can be different for people with other hair types and directions of growth, but I think patience and practice is key. I let my coarser hairs grow a bit longer than a grain of rice (which was an annoying 3 weeks, but it’s worth it!) My hairs grow at different speeds and thickness, so I can feel some of the small, finer hairs still. But I know waxing has to be done multiple times before it’s uniform and/or stops growing. You can always tweeze anything noticeable leftover. Overall, I am so satisfied and impressed with this purchase and couldn’t recommend it enough, especially for someone wanting to learn how. It's been 24 hours and normally I’d be covered in painful bumps, but my skin is silky smooth and clear! I love that they also sell Kotamu wax beads separately so that you can keep using the brand if you adore it like I did!

Rough shipping but great product!
So box showed up DESTROYED was a little concerned but luckily all worked fine. The wax warmer itself does take a while to both heat up and adjust temperatures. Which to my knowledge is normal but if its your first time using one. Dump the wax in on the max heat and walk away for a bit or sit down. It will take a bit for the wax to melt. If you plan to do your legs, use 2 of rhe small bags the wax will go FAST if you sre doing large areas. Recommend buying additional larger bags of wax, the ones provided. Very small. All together a good deal for the price, love the silicone insert, makes clean up easy. Just let the left over wax dry and pop it right out.

Worth the money
Absolutely worth the purchase. I did my underarms, upper lip, and then bikini area. Worked wonderfully and was significantly less pain than going somewhere to have it done. I liked that each bag was labeled simply so I knew exactly which one to use.I put it on 150 as instructed and waited about 10 minutes for it to heat up. Afterwards, cleanup was a breeze. I turned everything off and you just let the wax cool so it hardens. I then broke it up into small pieces so I could store it back in the bag for ease of use.I have waxed at home before and do not like to use just wax to pull it off. I purchased paper strips for this reason. Not sure if you have to, but I prefer it this way.

Waaaaay better than expected!
Holy cow this is way better than I thought it would be! Even the wax too! I used a whole bag of the wax for the more coarse hair and set the machine to 165. It got to 165 pretty quick but the machine didn’t heat all the way up to max then come back down like it did for some other people whose reviews I read. I just manually put it up to max and let it stay on that setting til it was completely melted (took about 10 minutes) then set it back down to 165. Only took about 2 minutes and the wax was usable. I found that the wax is easier to work with for me if I keep it right at 180 degrees. Goes on smoother and glides much better onto your skin from the stick and not as messy, 165 was just a little too cool. I’m also used to the girls at European Wax Center waxing my bikini area and their wax always feels much hotter and leaves me more irritated than this did. So so happy I bought this machine. It’s going to save me hundreds in waxing costs and is less irritating to my skin. 💖💖💖

Useless thermostat/Temperature control
The thermostat on this device is not remotely accurate. Measuring with a laser thermometer and a candy thermometer I have found that the unit's readout is not even within 50° of accuracy. Use a quality thermometer to measure the wax temperature to avoid serious burns or wax that is too cold to spread. UPDATE: The company contacted me and refunded the full purchase price of the product and didn't require me to return it. I did not initially request a return because the hot wax unit works fine other than the useless thermostat. The wax never gets any hotter than 156°F which is about the right temperature, so there is no danger of being burned. AI research suggested this unit to me as the best in this price range. I was happy with the customer service, so I feel comfortable recommending this product with the caveat that you should use secondary verification of the wax temperature. Order a candy thermometer with this device and it will probably serve you well.
