Healthy, tasty and my cats love it
I accidentally bought the kitten formula for my adult siamese cats. I contacted customer support and although I cannot return or exchange they were nice enough to give me a refund so I can purchase the correct food. I will say the kitten food is just as great as the adult version. My cats love this food and although it's pricey, it is worth it for the nutritional health and great ingredients. They have never had any GI upset from it.

"Same brand better taste" - Gizmo
My kitten never finished his dry food until I started putting this in front of him. I use Orijen for all his food, but my boy Gizmo must prefer the taste of this one a lot more.

Decent dry food overall.
My cat only eats wet food since he's diabetic and has ckd. So, I gave it to the neighborhood strays and they ate it right up. I personally think dry food isn't good for cats since it's high in carbs and usually low in protein. The ingredients look pretty good though, definitely better quality than a lot of dry foods. I like that it has freeze dried chicken chunks in it too.

Hit or Miss โ One Cat Loves It, Oneโs Not Interested
I tried this for my kittens, and it was a mixed reaction โ one absolutely loves it, while the other wonโt touch it. The ingredients seem high-quality, and I appreciate the focus on natural proteins, but like with all pet food, it really depends on the cat. Worth trying, but your results may vary!

90% animal ingredients, no gluten, no grain, made in USA with cage-free poultry--what's not to love?
Now THIS is how dry kibble should be done! I am so impressed with this kitten food, and so are my cats. This isn't our first time trying an Orijen product, but I think it's the best one we've tried so far. It is formulated for kittens, so I only give my adult cats a little at a time since they don't need the higher caloric content, but it will be perfect for the kitten I'm currently fostering when he's a little older. The packaging is great, with a zip closure that actually closes reliably. The food inside is made in the USA with cage-free chickens and turkeys, and it's grain-free, which means it's gluten-free, which means that I, as a person with celiac disease, don't have to be super careful about touching it or breathing it in while I am feeding my cats. That's a bigger deal than many people might realize. But here's the REALLY important thing about this kitten food: It's made with 90% animal ingredients! I mean, just LOOK at that ingredients list! (I am actually including a photo so you can literally look at it. LOL) The first ten ingredients listed are real meat or eggs, as is much of the rest of the list. There's no cornmeal or other pointless fillers; everything here is included for a reason, and it will make your kitten healthier and happier. There are even little freeze-dried savory chicken treats included to keep a kitten's gustatory interest, the way the marshmallows in a bowl of Lucky Charms keep mine. ;) Honestly, there isn't much not to like here. And while the price is high, it's a good investment in your kitten's overall health. Personally, I can't afford to feed my cats the very best food for every single meal, but I try to give them a balance of the Good Stuff and the Affordable Stuff. Orijen Wild Reserve Kitten food certainly falls into the Good Stuff category, and I will absolutely make sure it's at least a part of my kitten's diet for that crucial first year of his life. Five shining stars!

6 paws up! All 3 of my cats loved it when I ran out of their regular food ๐
I ordered this for my next round of foster kittens (and occasionally crunchy treats for my grain free permanent 3!), but wound up having to put it to emergency use when I unexpectedly ran out of their regular all life stages grain free dry food & wasn't able to get to the store for several days. All 3 of my cats were THRILLED with this kitten food & devoured every crunchy bit they were allowed to have (scaled down from feeding guidelines as they're all adults at this point). They actually ate every bit of kibble in their dry dish, which isn't typical of them, as they usually start grumbling as soon as they can see even a hint of the bottom & stop eating until it's replenished. Spoiled, I know. While I wouldn't recommend feeding this kitten food to adult cats regularly, it is filled with high quality ingredients that make it an ideal solution if you find yourself in a pinch as I was, or have a kitten or 5 in the house. My cats only had this for a few days & only as a fairly minimal supplement to wet food, but they truly seemed to enjoy every bite, and I appreciated knowing they were still eating a high quality diet that would've impact their overall health (I wouldn't feed them most of the foods available in grocery stores, as they mostly filler). None of them experienced any gastric distress, despite it being a rather sudden addition to their routines. I'm sure they'll enjoy having a few pieces as occasional treats just as much as they did having it as a meal, and I have no qualms about giving it to them, as it is a much healthier option than most treats on the market. The only negative I can think of with the Orijen kitten food is the cost. My 2 youngest cats are both over 14lbs, so would have been eating approx 4oz per day each (they're 5mo apart in age). This 3.5lb bag only would have lasted about a week in the late kitten stage, less as younger kittens, if the 8oz cup=125g on packaging holds true. At $30 per bag, it would have been a financial stretch to use this as the primary food for my own cats, and certainly out of the budget with fosters, as I usually take larger litters of bottle babies & raise them until they're 8-10 weeks and deemed ready to be fixed & adopted by the vets at the humane society. I wish that weren't the case, as Orijen is a great food option across the board. Thankfully I have access to a more reasonably priced alternative that while maybe not as good, is at least comparable in ingredients & minimal fillers. The remainder of this bag of kitten food is safely in the freezer, being kept fresh for the next foster brood (and the occasional hand fed adult treat), who I'm sure will love it just as much as my permanent kitties have!
