What is the Medium size to Uk?

I can only offer my experience: If I buy a polo short, I buy XL. I bought an XL one of these and it's OK, but a tiny bit snug. I'd think going 1 size up from your normal clothing size might be beneficial especially if you want to wear more than a Tee shirt underneath.
