How many onions could you fit in the machine?

Depends on how big your onions are, surely! But recently I had to chop onions with it, and it took two medium-sized onions, quartered, so they’d chop more easily. Suggest you don’t overfill if you want better results. It’s an excellent piece of kit.

Is it good for chopping small amounts i.e. a couple of garlic cloves, or just one onion?

I have had success chopping less than a clove of garlic. I do this often and sometimes i add a bit of coarse salt to help.

Can this run for at least 2 mins without having to turn it off to avoid motor burnout?

People shouldn't offer advice or answer questions without reading the instruction manual. NO, this machine isn't meant to be left running. In fact, it can't be. When the buttons are pressed, the don't stay on. The machine operates only whilst the buttons are being pressed. In fact, the instruction booklet says, "IMPORTANT: Never operate the Mini Prep Pro continuously for longer than 20 seconds at a time."

Does the blade comes out for washing or it’s fixed in the bowl ??
