I'm looking for instructions and step by step ideas. I found the steps to build the rainbow colored ball, and my son really loved following those.

I have a 2 year old that still mouths everything, are these appropriate for him? The product states only "for all ages"

He will probably use it as a "fill'n'spill" activity, which is ok. At 3 he will start sorting them by colors and at 4 begin building with them. They are just small enough to fit into his mouth, though. Our 2 year old hasn't tried to do that, but it's not something he plays with unattended.

Do these come in a plastic container with the yellow or blue lid as shown? Some people writing reviews say the packaging isn't as advertised.

The container I received was clear with a blue lid. All 500 pieces were there and in great shape.

Is one set enough? Or are these like Legos where you really need to buy a few sets to make more complicated structures? Thanks!

I bought these to take on vacation for something reasonably priced and new to play with, and three of my kids played with one set together and were able to build quite a few things. They don't like to take things apart to build new things, so that's where our problem comes in. I think his set is really generous in the number of pieces, though. You can do a lot with one set.
