I didn't realize these guys had all the arrangement. Precision guitar work! You have probably heard most these at sometime in the past and now you can hear the whole enchilada. Excellent!

Nice. Though it sounded better on a crummy record player - one with a nickel scotch-taped to the tone arm - with a subpar set of speakers and amplifiers when I was 17. Better gear but now but things have changed somewhere within myself. The transfer to digital was done with care - it was not tinny or tiny sounding - it came across in an analog style fashion - rounded, deep with some warmth and feeling. Kudos to the engineers.

Buyer, be aware that per the liner notes these are re-recordings of their old hits played and recorded using up to date equipment/studio technology of the time (2000). And that's a great thing. The songs sound fresh and as usual the playing is as good as it gets. I can not help but smile every time I play this disc, not just because of the memories but the songs are just plain good. There are a few songs I can live without, but all and all it's a solid album full of great musicianship and personality. Also, it's pretty cool to see your 7 year old grandson riding an imaginary surfboard in the living room to the music of the Ventures. If you are a music fan that likes surf music, or appreciates and collects guitar music or you want to expand your music library by getting something unique, then this disc is an excellent choice.

This Cd is a great collection of Ventures hits. It has many favorite hits like Walk Don't Run and Pipeline. But it also contains some great songs I hadn't heard like Guitar Boogie Shuffle, Tall Cool One (with a jazzy piano!), and Bongo Rock. But my favorite is a slow bluesy version of Honky Tonk with a saxophone and everything. Like the guy yelling in the background says, "Oh yeah!"

My husband grew up in Miami and loved the Ventures as a teenager.I saw the CD from the Ventures Gold album and purchased it for him. He is totally elated, which makes me happy. It came in the mail quickly and he has listened to it several times since then. Such a small price to pay for a big smile on my husband's face.

Very enjoyable compilation of some of the best instrumentals of the 50’s and 60’s. Although these are re-recorded versions, they are almost identical to the originals.

Just the Ventures music I was looking for, GREAT!

This is a great collection of classic guitar instrumentals that I always remembered growing up and wanted to buy to add to my collection of old time greats. The Ventures were probably one of the earliest American groups to advance the capabilities of the electric guitar and the iconic California sound.

【GLD CD 2109。全20曲。(57:27)】日本盤V-ゴールドと同じジャケ写(創設者の二人のみ)で若干収録曲の入れ替えが有る全てリレコの編集盤です。しかしオリジナルとかけ離れてのアレンジは無く50年を経て機材・技術等によって洗練されたように感じられますが個人の好みで違った印象も持たれる事と思います。聴き比べも良いと思うのですが、中にはサックス、キーボードが頑張り過ぎるのはどうかと、、。Tr-17,19はメルさんのアルバムから数曲選んでいる通り日本盤ベストよりやや知名度が落ちる曲がありますが結構良い曲です。~団塊爺い。

ベンチャーズは、意外ですが満足できる曲目内容のベスト盤がほぼありません（CD１枚物で知っているかぎりですが…）。このアルバムの内容で全曲オリジナルだったらある程度満足だったのですがオリジナル録音ではないものもあるようです。特にダイヤモンドヘッドは残念です。
