SPEED QUEEN Home Style Mechanical Gas Dryer (LDG30RGS113TW01)

I decided to use this to replace an almost 35 yr old Kenmore Dryer, I was looking for something that should give me the same amount of longevity. Item arrived quickly and the freight company communicated well with delivery. The dryer is great! Very quality feeling and so much more quiet than my old dryer. Will update in 35 yrs to say if it lasted that long.

I bought this machine, and it is now working well at my home, but you will want to know the full deal, which I figured out by persistence. This dryer is a commercial Speed Queen, essentially identical to the entry-level consumer machine. Buying it online saved me $300 or so, vs buying from a dealer locally. The box that it came in was intact, and the dryer looked good coming out. I hired a reputable dryer repairman to install it. At that point we discovered that it would not light. His inspection showed a shattered igniter, and singe marks inside, suggesting that it had been turned on before. Possibly was defective and shipped out to a consumer via amazon rather than repairing it. I paid for the repair and the hookup $250. I don't know what a local dealer would have charged for hookup, but probably a lot less. I talked to Speed Queen. Consumer machines come with three years parts and labor. Commercial machines come with three years parts but no labor. They do not authorize sale of their commercial machines over the internet, and thus do not cover parts either. So, at this point, I am saving a few dollars vs having bought locally. If I have any additional problems in the next three years, this may be a more costly way to buy a Speed Queen. In my case, since I hire a skilled technician for repairs and installation, if I had it to do all over again, I would buy local. If you are handy and confident, you might do better financially buying online. I suspect that this seller is supplying defective machines, as evidenced by the other reviews on Amazon.

I wish that it was more obvious that this dryer uses liquid propane gas and not natural gas. I was in a rush to get a dryer and knew that I definitely wanted a speed queen. Little did I know that this was not the right type of gas dryer. I tried to find out more info about this particular model but did not have any luck. Maybe there is some indication, but I obviously missed it. I ended up purchasing a conversion kit ( GENUINE Speed Queen 649P3 Conversion Kit- which was further confusing because the brand was alliance which turns out makes speed queen products) and then struggled to find someone qualified to install it. Which in turn would have added to the overall cost. Eventually my husband and the handyman purchased a manometer and figured out how to install the conversion kit. Whole thing was a fiasco and I was without a dryer for weeks (and my husband was NOT happy with me lol) Overall the performance is pretty top notch but not as fast as some other Speed Queen dryers that I have used. Does hold large loads and I am happy with it now.

Dryer did not function correctly and seller is giving me the run around. I should have purchased this appliance from someone else.
