Women's Medusa Costume Headpiece

Great product for price, especially. Added some other cheap snakes and black pipe cleaner (tip) for child's Halloween costume. Does not smell; fit well enough on a 7 year old and adult, alike. Looks great from front; from side and back a little silly but.... who cares.

If I could give negative stars I would. I opened the box and a poof of latex powder came out, and a burning plastic smell. This "headpiece" came to me with 9 snakes, 2 of which were broken off. The widows peak was uneven and it looked like an alien head. I was so irritated and pressed for time that I forgot to take pictures. I took off the snakes and made a headpiece of my own but ultimately wasted $20.

Bought for my 9 year old daughter, who was Medusa for Halloween. Overall, the piece is pretty cool, lots of detail. The only downsides were the price and that the headpiece needs to be secured with bobby-pins to keep it in place. And even with a net haircover made for use with wigs, it was difficult to hide my daughter's hair underneath. It's something that really tied the costume together though, and no one else had one like it.

This looks fantastic on our 12 year old daughter for Halloween. It fits a bit small for a grown up head, but looks incredible!

This arrived a day after was promised on prime and all of the rubber snakes were breaking off and had to be gluedbfor the performance. Definitely not worth the money.

Misrepresented in photo. Has only 9 Snake heads. The "Widow's Peak" in the front of the cap is off-centered. Snakes look like they will break off as one is already coming unglued. Will salvage / disassemble for a headpiece.

This headpiece is just ok. First, I did not receive the same one as in the photo. The headpiece I received had 9 snakes instead of 13 and the heads were not all open as in the photo, making for a much more sparse looking head of snakes. One of the snakes was starting to come unglued so it hung to the side sort of awkwardly. The top and back of the headpiece is very lumpy and bumpy. It's supposed to look like the snakes' bodies, but it ends up looking like a cross between a bubble headed alien from a 50's sci-fi movie and a giant head of broccoli. Really not the look I was going for. But, I was short on time so I made it work. Note that the sides come down over the ears, which I found very uncomfortable and irritating, so the first thing I did was trim the bottom of the headpiece so my ears were uncovered. Unfortunately that also meant cutting off the bottom snake on either side, leaving me with only 7 snakes. To reduce the bubble headed alien effect, I covered the headpiece with a wig and cut holes for the snake heads to poke out. Then I took a bunch of smaller plastic snakes and stuck it in the wig to fill it out. The end result wasn't great but it was acceptable. I can't say I'm sorry I bought it - it did serve its purpose - but I definitely wouldn't buy it again.

A little big but comfortable and stays on... got a million compliments on it.
