I have used this for about 8 weeks now for school. I honestly don't require the use of the retractable feature much on my current unit because almost everything has a door code instead, but I do fiddle with it regularly and it has held up so far. It's nice to have such a beautiful name badge holder as most of my peers wear translucent colored ones that are not very attractive in my opinion. The retractable length is enough the I can comfortably run my ID through the readers if necessary. I also like that there is an alligator clip on the back instead of the belt clips (which don't feel secure to me), and it does swivel so you can clip it whatever direction is necessary for your uniform.

I just received it today, and it is beautiful! It seems to be very well made. I hope it will last a long time. I will try to remember to write something more in a few months. The only thing I would like to see added is a ring at the top for clipping onto a lanyard. However, I was able to use the alligator clip on the back to attach to the lanyard I bought. The alligator clip is tight enough (even when hanging on the lanyard) to clip to a collar of a blouse; which is great when you don't want a lanyard dangling in the way of getting work done.

I have been using this about a month now. The mechanism works smoothly, and I have received compliments on the badge holder. I use the reel multiple times a day (basically, every time I want to go through a door). My last badge holder (which was similar in quality) lasted 4 years. This is a higher quality reel than I would be able to get in a university store, office supply store, or hospital gift shop--I've been through quite a few of those, and am lucky if they last more than a few months. I'll update this when this one breaks and I have to buy a new one.

I just started interning at a hospital and was eyeing everyone else fancy badge holders! Now that i've received mine i'm so happy with it! The reel makes it very easy to pull the badge down for scanning and the additional length and swivel it provides is much more comfortable to me. The button itself is beautiful and exactly as pictured. The alligator class seems sturdy and I like that it swivels to adjust depending upon where you attach it. Everything I wanted in a badge holder, and I do plan to add more badges in the future!

As pictured which is nice. The alligator clip seems very strong as far as grip. I will say, the clip isn't tightly attached to the button part. I'm worried it will eventually fall off, but only time will tell.

This is high quality. I have bought other lanyards that broke very quickly, but this has stood up to much use and hasn't broken. I now have multiple lanyards from Henry the Buttonsmith, and they are all standing up to wear and tear wonderfully. These aren't the cheapest lanyards on Amazon, but do yourself a favor and skip buying the cheaper ones because they will just break at an inopportune time and leave you with headaches.

The product is what was shown. Just wish the clip was a neoprene or hard plastic so it has less of a chance to tear the clothes. Ithe reminds me of my trip to Monet's garden.

The only I don't like is that the clip isn't completely secured to the back of the badge so it constantly spins around and my name tag is all over the place. Other than that its cute and does the job.
