The texture is chewy and soft and fresh. Pretty decent pricing. Review: Chewy, but in a good way - Had a chewy, almost gummy quality that was not unpleasant. Since it has a very light sweetness that doesn't linger on the tongue this served it well.

Image different from box but taste is fine
One thing that's important to note is that this is matcha flavored, which is different from the green tea most people think of. Matcha has less of an herbal taste and more of a leafy taste. Not sure how else to describe it, but while I enjoy matcha, the red bean flavor might be less adventurous if this is your first time trying mochi. In terms of the mochi itself, it's fine. The glutinous rice is a little too sweet, I feel? Maybe they were trying to offset the matcha taste that isn't inherently sweet on its own. Because of this sweetness, though, this mochi wouldn't be the best wagashi; it could make the tea taste bland by comparison. Overall, it's matcha mochi. It's exactly as it sounds: soft, chewy, and matcha. I might recommend the red bean more since the price is better and the taste is a little more subdued, but if you've got a hankering for matcha specifically, this'll get you there. I personally could devour this whole box, haha.

Delicious Mochi
Fresh Mochi is the best and this is definitely fresh. The Mochi is moist and soft with a delicious taste of green tea. I will definitely buy more!! Thank You!!!!

THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC JAPANESE MOCHI
I am japanese and am extremely connected to my cultures food. It’s all I eat. These mochi are pretty horrible. The texture was like soft rubber.. bland… no soy beans used clearly in making the mochi bc it’s the weirdest texture. It should be soft and gummy like, kind of a “slimy” feeling once you put it in your mouth and chew. The inside wasn’t bad just bland and dry. Whole thing was dry. not moist. it should be STICKY!!! This mochi is the farthest thing from mochi i’ve ever eaten. All japanese would agree with me. This was hard to explain i did my best. If you want good mochi look up “boba mochi” it’s the 60 count bag. Those are pretty good for our options here. If there’s a japanese market around your area I highly suggest getting it there in the snack section! THOSE are authentic!!

Ok, but weird texture
I like the flavor but the mochi is boncy and chewy and the filling is chalky.

A Game-Changer!
I absolutely love the 1 X Royal Family Japanese Green Tea Mochi! The texture is perfect – soft and chewy with just the right amount of sweetness. The green tea flavor is wonderfully authentic and not overpowering, making it a delightful treat for anyone who enjoys matcha. Each piece is individually wrapped, making it easy to share or enjoy one at a time. The balance of flavors and the smooth filling inside truly makes this a standout mochi. It’s a great snack for any time of day, and I’ll definitely be buying more!

open minded taste rewards you in many ways
If you're into trying new things. Squeeze this treat into your things to try list! A mochi is a rice ball of a treat you'd like as much as i just did. Per serving it has zero fat and 100ish calories. Way more healthier then majority of treats from typical local stores. I let my mother try a bite. She complained of the texture. I offered one to my lamdlord, his words saying this "if it's not not chocolate i don't eat it" My first bite however, i felt the nice rice texture right away following a hint of green tea. You can't say i didn't offer my snack, cause i enjoyed every bite. Fully recommend it. But be careful when you order it. It was pretty hot outside so i was afraid of it melting. Luckily it didn't feel too squishy. Give a mochi a try, seriously!
