I love Metroidvanias, and these are great examples of genre. Plus, they're chock full of Mexican flavor, which is awesome.

I finished Metroid Dread a while back and needed something to fill the void. After looking at previous reviews I decided to give these games a chance, and was not disappointed. Very technical game play at times mixed with button mashing fight sequences, both games were extremely satisfying. If you’re looking for 7-10 hours of side scrolling game play per game this would be a great addition to your collection.

This game was endless fun! Such a fun, entertaining experience throughout. It provided a good challenge as well! Guacamelee give you a creative spin on platformers with different power upgrades and unique characters. Fun but not insanely hard boss fights and tons of hidden items to collect. Highly recommend for any platforming Metroidvania fans!

I had my reservations about this game, but I ordered it anyways. I have been getting tired of all the Metroidvania style games saturating the market lately. But I started to play this yesterday and when I turned it off I noticed I had played for 3 hours without even knowing it! The game is fun and a fresh take Metroidvania style games with the fighting and grappling system. It even gives nods towards Metroid within the game. You also get both games on the card, so you'll be playing this for a while. This is a game I highly recommend!

I loved these when they came out on consoles... I had pre-ordered it for the switch when it was released but had to cancel my order glad I waited and snagged it for $15. Well worth it.Metroidvania style gameplay... Wrestling style beat-em-up combat. Funny, fun, lots to do and explore. Some of the puzzle sections are deceptively difficult. Nice moderately challenging combo of games with included dlc for the switch. Also a couple physical/digital bonus items included in the case.

This product includes 2 games at 40 bucks with all dlc. This is all fine and dandy except it comes with a lazy download code from the developers for the second game's dlc and that's unacceptable. These games are not big and it shouldn't have been a problem fitting everything onto one cartridge. Also, this package is GREATLY overpriced at 40 bucks as you can get them plus their dlc for much cheaper individually. I do not like lazy business practices like this.

A fun game that has a lot of fun side adventures to complete. Haven't played much of it due to Fire Emblem: Three Houses taking up all my time, but once im through with that, I plan on playing Guacamelee more. The story is well written and the music is great!

Wow. Made in Toronto, but rivalling the likes of Japan's Super Metroid SNES. In the top tier of Metroidvania games ever released, this compilation is a MUST-own. The music, the art style, the humour, the tight controls & the combat engine come together to create a whole even greater than the sum of all these AAA-parts. Do NOT pass on this one - keep supporting physical releases!!

Guacamelee is so much fun. The fact both games are all on the physical cart, makes it even better. No download codes. I own it on PS4 and the gameplay/experience is just as good on Switch. They did a great job with the port.
